delivered samples to help us with choice of colours; installation was done in a very efficient and professional manner; the crew did an impeccable job at removing any debris around the house; the day after installation someone came to check if everything was done to standards; and we got a phone call to ensure our satisfaction!

Price a bit steep for the amount of time spent on repairs (1.5hrs)

What do you love most about your job?
I have been roofing for over 15 years and have always loved the exhilaration and challenge of working on the roof. I enjoy honing my skills in precision, speed, and mentoring up-and-coming shinglers. I am always expanding my knowledge through learning new shingling strategies as well as branching out into other related contracting work like eavestroughing, facia, soffit, siding, venting, and structural repairs.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After roofing in Ottawa for a number of years, I moved to Montreal to launch a roofing business with my brother there. Over the following 5 years, the business stabilized and grew, and I decided to branch out to start my own enterprise, MZ Roofing, back here in Ottawa, with my wife, Mikaela Barrington Bush. We love running a local, family-run business in the city that we call home, where we are able to develop strong relationships with our customers and our roofing team alike.

MZ Roofing provides superb customer service - we will take the time to discuss with your questions, concerns and help to educate you about roofing products, risks and best-practices. We will even help you choose your colour of shingles, if you like.
We are efficient about getting our work done; most homes are done within a day or two. We bring a well-sized, highly-skilled crew so we can get the roof installed quickly. We are serious about property preservation and cleanup and will leave your gardens, lawns, and driveways looking untouched.
We also take safety very seriously and make sure all our our crew is up to date on required safety training and follows protocol to the tee. We make sure our team is fairly paid for their work and skill-level, and adhere to all provincial employment standards.

We are able to provide electronic estimates without visiting the address, in most locations around the Ottawa-area. This means we can get estimates to you sooner (within 24h) even in rural areas. We do the majority of our customer communication over the phone, email, and via Quickbooks.
The roofing , ofcourse, we must do in-person, on-location.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We can accommodate any concerns your may have around COVID-19 or disease transmission. We make every effort to make our keep our equipment clean and avoid having unwell employees on the job-site. We are more than happy to wear a mask during our face-to-face interactions or during any in-home inspections.
Asphalt Roofing

Eavestroughing
We can install new eavestroughs or gutterguards on your roof. We also provide a free gutter cleaning with every roof installation.
Roofing Repair
MZ Roofing offers a 24-hour emergency roofing repair service. We can replace missing shingles, rotted plywood, or install roofing vents & ductwork. We also install heating cables and snow guards, and remove ice damming during the winter.
Roofing Insurance Inspections
We can complete roofing inspections and generate documentation which we can provide to your insurance company when your roof needs to be repaired or replaced as part of an insurance claim.
General Contracting
Our team of skilled tradespeople offers residential and commercial general renovations and repair services including, but not limited to: flooring, painting, drywall, insulation, framing, bathroom/kitchen/basement renovation, roofing repair & installation, tree removal, fencing installation, and demolition.
