Really disappointed in this restaurant. Firstly I ordered food as you can See there are three spoons full of beef in the Carne Asada steak bowl. There is so much space left in the container. I was shocked when I opened up my bag. Worst part - They set it up on their Uber page that you should tip them because they work really hard - so I did… And this is what I received. Food is EXCELLENT and service was okay … we had to help ourselves to napkins from other tables, and ask for cutlery as server was super slow for the restaurant not being busy at all… in fact we were the only table so that was weird how slow she was. Made dinner reservations for a group. Came specifically for happy hour specials. Ie: $5 fish taco, $10 Margs etc. Happy hour is listed from 4-6pm PRINTED on the Menu and promoted online. Service was not attentive. additional orders of tacos took quite some time to be delivered. Server forgot to bring drinks and had to be reminded. Food was mediocre for flavor and temperature (fish cold and soggy). Bill comes and the "happy hour" pricing was not honoured? Was told there was a 20% off in replacement as it's their "new" special and that they have been waiting on corporate to print new menus... Honestly pretty discouraged because had I have known that I would have probably ordered something different. Server apologized and admitted that she didn't communicate this and that was the only solution offered- a apology... I love La Carnita, but this was my first time at this location. I got takeout and decided to try the burrito bowl. Big mistake. Their tacos are so good, or at least the locations I’ve tried were great. The bowl was bland, flavorless, and was filled with mostly rice, iceberg, lettuce, and shredded cheese. Absolutely awful experience. We ordered takeout from La Carnita a few weeks ago, and it was downright inedible. No flavor whatsoever, tiny portions, and the presentation was revolting — honestly, it looked like something you'd want to throw away, not eat. Worst location ever. Not sure how it is in person but I ordered via Uber and they did not give me 2 orders of churros which I ordered and paid for. The portions are also so tiny and it’s mainly rice. Barely any protein. The rice is also hard and dry. Not appetizing whatsoever. And the “crispy shrimp” that I ordered were all crumbs and fried dough (which, by the way, they only gave me about 4 tiny pieces. The chicken was flavourless and the size of a teaspoon. What a joke. Ordered on Uber, paid for extra meat, and had less than satisfactory for if it were a regular amount of meat. Food was good except the ratio was way off, even with the extra meat. Pretty much just salad with bits of beef… and again, that was paying for extra meat. Food was great but it was a rip off for what I got. Would love to have my order refilled, with a proper amount of meat, plus the extra I paid for, and I’d happily remove this and be satisfied…. Vey disappointed, we ordered 7 tacos from the which 3 never arrived as well as our drinks. The service very slow and poor, we had to tell the waiter to cancel the remaining tacos since we waited for them more than 40min, when the bill arrived they did not charge any taco at all and we had to wait other 20 min for the waiter to correct the bill. We ordered Ubereats, 1+1 and they gave us something that seem like it's been made last year. The lime was extremely dry, pork taco was like pieces of bricks, the fried fish taco was extremely hard and soggy. The bowl was good, but the entire sets of taco we got was pretty much a waste. PROS: We went for lunch on a Sunday, the place was almost empty but QUIET!! We appreciated the no-loud-music, no-loud-conversations ambiance. Service was corteous and non-invasive. Good selection of drinks. Excellent dessert. CONS: We ordered the shared nachos. Big dish to share, but served when the melted cheddar cheese was already cold. Another disappointment was the absence of Mexican cheese sauce, which made the dish dry and mmmm... just not right.
