Julia has some amazing training skills. We are so happy we found her and took advantage of the private training program. It has changed our walking experience and we are no longer afraid of encounters with other pets on the street. Julia is professional, but keeps the sessions light and fun too. Our story:We were at wits end with our two dogs, one mid-size mix-breed and one large Bernese Mountain dog. I was unable to walk them at the same time due to their extreme reactivity to other dogs. Our large dog even learned which houses had dogs in it and would react even just to the house when walking by. It made it nearly impossible to walk the two dogs at the same time, often ending up embarrassed of their behaviour, apologizing to other owners, and just avoiding any and all other dogs. After consultation with Julia, she gave us a few tips to implement during their regular walks and we were able to see improvement in both dogs within a few days!!!! We then immediately booked Julia for Private sessions at our house/neighbourhood, as this is where the dogs are at their worst. She worked with us to teach us the skills we need to implement during their walks and some obedience in the house as well. After 6 weeks of 1/week training sessions with Julia, and a lot of consistency and hard work, we could successfully walk past dogs from across the street that would normally make our large dog completely lose it. Our large dog now keeps eye contact with us, almost ignoring the other dogs presence. I'd say its a miracle, but there's no miracle here, its all Julia! More...

I've had the opportunity to take several classes with Julia from basic puppy classes to advanced sport classes. Julia is a fantastic positive-reinforcement-based trainer that truly sets you up to succeed with your pup. The JV Training classes are kept small so there's plenty of one-on-one time, and Julia is always willing to customize the lesson plan to suit your goals. My family and I met Julia through our greyhound adoption group who put us in touch with her when our then 2-year-old retired racer (Lio) was having trouble adjusting to our home.
As first time dog owners, we were anxious and overwhelmed by training but Julia did a wonderful job teaching us how to understand and work with Lio. She went above and beyond the call of duty by being readily available through e-mail and willing to travel and work with our schedules.
