I cannot say enough good things about iTK9. I sent my 15 month old pup for the Great Reset board and train program as he was struggling with severe anxiety, mouthing, and inability to follow commands. His leash manners were challenging as he constantly pulled. After spending 3 weeks with iTK9, he came home a new pup. Since coming home I’ve seen a massive improvement in his anxiety, before he attended the program he would “scream” and cry all day and required several medications to treat his anxiety, he is now happy, calm, well mannered and a joy to be around. I can walk him and he stays in the heel position with some gentle reminders. He’s able to relax on place which was something he could never do before. Mouthing also has no longer been an issue since returning home. I was even able to take him to get holiday photos done which I never imagined would be a possibility! After bringing Tater home from his 5 week stay with ITK9, we saw a huge change in his confidence, manners, and skills. He walks right beside me, waits patiently in place, and is eager to come when recalled (off-leash! ). He respects his crate, which before he would find a way to get out. We enrolled our rescue dog into iTK9 for the 4 week Operation Freedom course. Before the training we struggled with high energy, over excitement, leash pulling, jumping, mouthing, counter surfing. .. you name it! ITK9 brought peace back into our house! My husband and I were truly at a loss with our dog. We did group sessions, 1:1 sessions and saw a behaviourist. Nothing seemed to help Cody with his reactivity, biting, jumping and excitability. We couldn’t relax in our own home. With a baby on the way, we were desperate to find a solution as this was not a safe environment to bring a baby home to. We found ITK9 and enrolled Cody in the 4 week program. We loved the daily updates we received from the trainers and seeing his progress. The time he spent there also gave us time to recover and get in a good mental space to take him home. We got our 2 beautiful dogs at the start of covid. Unfortunately this meant they spent no time around other dogs and little time around other people. They barked at people at the door and anyone who passed our windows. Walks were difficult as they reacted to other dogs, people and squirrels. We recently made the great decision to send them to ItrainK9. It has been a wonderful experience. ItrainK9 have worked with our dogs and us to give us all the tools we need. Our 1 year old American Bully Bolt took the 2 week course and he is a changed dog. His playful personality is still the same but the obedience is next level. I can not speak more highly of my experience with Johnny and Cody! Our dog Piper had become such a handful I didn’t know what to do. I have two young kids and she had become leash aggressive and super protective of us and would would get so anxious and reactive with people in our house. After just 2 sessions with Johnny she was able to walk on her leash without reacting to other dogs OR people. I was amazed (and truthfully emotional). I went from thinking I would have to re-home her to enjoying walks and having guests! We had owned our dog Paskwa for about 1 1/2 years but after a couple instances of nips guests and our cat (and a lot of barking), we needed help so we dropped her off at iTrainK9. After the 2 week board and train program we couldn’t believe the change in our dog who was listening to us and trusting us so much more, and the follow-up training sessions (included) made things even better. I did the great reset program for my 2 year old Doberman and it was great. He had some not great previous owners and from that he was very anxious and fearful which affected his behaviour everywhere. We have two 50 pound.rescue dogs whose behaviours were out of control. One could not leash walk properly and the other was reactive to a dangerous degree. The team at ITRAINK9 was truly amazing. We were hoping the two week program would be enough but our reactive pup needed a third week. And I can say it has made a WORLD of difference. We now have two dogs that can be walked together at the same time. Something we never thought would be possible. Our reactive dog is able to tolerate seeing other dogs on walks without losing control, he no longer barks aggressively at people who enter the house and his entire demeanour is more relaxed and happy. Our anxious pulling dog is more relaxed and walks loosely on the leash. We are better able to read her signals and help her manage her stress by setting the boundaries she needs to feel safe. Having rescue dogs streamed us into a canine community that advocated strongly against the use of punishment to train dogs. For our dogs, each with a different trauma history, this was a disservice. They really needed to be taught how to be dogs and the team at ITK9 understood that better than any trainer or training team we had met. We found that by taking control of their training with firm correction and the use of punishment when needed, our reactive dog no longer feels he needs to be in charge. When the humans are the alpha, he doesn’t need to be. He feels more safe and free. Setting firm boundaries and using eCollars did not hurt our dogs, it has helped them enormously and set our home back into the appropriate balance. The video training was key to preparing ourselves for their return. Do not skip out on it! If you make the decision to board your dog, invest in the six weeks of firm boundaries when they get home. Sticking 100% to the plan when they got home was the hardest part, but it was necessary and helped solidify those gains. We have been able to make a few changes since then, making sure that the behaviours didn’t backslide and correcting where we needed to. It’s been four months and we have happy, healthy socialised dogs that can safely be in the world. Doing the two week training program was the best decision we could have made for our family and our dog. We sent our 6 year old German Shepherd and got back a completely transformed boy. The best money ever spent. I sent my 10mo old, 6lb puppy Arthur to iTrainK9 for their 4 week program and I couldn't be happier with the results. My pup Arthur had very bad leash reactivity (no actual dog aggression however) which made walks very stressful being on constant alert. He struggled settling at home - lots of pacing and difficulty napping outside of his crate. Walking through the park he was easily overstimulated by sounds, birds, dogs in the distance, squirrels - I had a hard time getting him to focus on me. After the 4 week program he is the best version of himself - he is calm, settles on "place" for hours and best of all our walks are so enjoyable. I haven't had any leash reactivity. He is now much more comfortable passing dogs, sitting and having dogs approach, and on our walk today he even made 2 dog friends on our walk. He is so much more confident and looks to me for guidance. I couldn't be happier with the results. This was the best decision we ever made! Our new pup Louis did the 4-week “Operation Freedom” program, where the foundational skills he learned helped change our life and interaction with him moving forward. As a puppy, Louis was biting, barking, and even eating socks and other things he was not supposed to - we loved him, but he was so challenging to really control and manage. When speaking with the trainers and staff at iTrainK9, they validated my concerns and gave me confidence that this was the best way to make the biggest impact and change. They did an amazing job. I cannot say enough good things about itraink9. We enrolled our mini golden doodle in the 4 week program. This was an 8 month old puppy who was a ball of energy - jumping up, nipping and refusing to walk more than 100m away from home LOL. The difference is like night and day - we have a dog who is a pleasure to walk. No pulling, no barking, and willing to actually go out of the cul-de-sac. I initially got in contact with this place back in March. After speaking to someone on the phone about my dogs behavioural issues they suggested I send her for one month. This was supposed to be a deep immersive training that would completely recondition my dog. I was told to write down some issues I would like corrected, and the team would work towards resolving them. When I picked up my dog, the trainer did a demonstration of how well she can walk on leash, and how she can stay on place. It seems like this was the only thing that was taught as none of the other things on my list were demonstrated, or was she capable of understanding when we came home. Teaching your dog how to stay and walking on a leash is most certainly not worth the $5000 charge. One of the other things I had mentioned was begging, and jumping on the counter for scraps. I was given a shock collar for my dog, which I was told to use whenever she displayed these behaviors. I understand that a place like this has many dogs they train at once so perhaps they have limited options when it comes to training. However, the cherry on top of the cake was my dog came home afraid of my hand as if I was going to hit her. The staff assured me that they don’t hit the dogs, but this was a behaviour that was quite new as she’s never been struck by me. She also had a huge cut with missing fur that the staff explained to me she received from “sniffing a bush.” To this day, she still has a patch of missing fur on her face. I don’t know if a staff member hit her or if another dog bit her or scratched her. Initially I was going to send my other dog here as well because I had really high hopes. Instead I attended a local doggy class that charges 40.00 a session. It took a month of classes once a week (under 200.00 with taxes in) to learn everything my dog learned at this place. I would very strongly discourage people from sending their pets here and rather encourage them to find a local trainer they can work with. This place is focused purely on profit as opposed to taking care of your dog. I wish I could refund the time spent away from my dog let alone the very expensive “training” itself. More...

We sent our two dogs in for training, they did the 2 week program but they ended up staying one extra week doing 3 weeks total. The change in their temperament and listening skills are beyond belief. Prior to sending them to iTrainK9 they were hard to walk on leash, they wouldn’t listen to basic commands and overall they were taking over the household. Having them home has been a weight lifted off our shoulders especially with a newborn, they lay happily in their crates, they are able to relax on place, walking them from the car to the house was outstanding, and overall they have a more calm demeanour. We learned just as much as the dogs did with all the training modules we had to watch. Being properly educated as a dog owner will help us ensure success for our dogs. We left our 1.5 year old staffy Rocco with the ITK9 team to work on general obedience and his ability to settle (he was very energetic no matter how much exercise he got, and could be destructive if he wasn’t stimulated — he always needed us to be playing with him, a toy or something to chew on or he would find ways to get attention, for ex chewing shoes or furniture). He’s been home for 3 days and we have seen a huge improvement. He is able to differentiate play time vs not, obeys commands, jumping up less, etc.) We had a really useful lesson when we picked him up, and are going back for the second go home lesson in one week. In addition to the in person dog training lessons, the E-book and online video library are useful and will allow us to keep Rocco’s training consistent over the next few months and on an ongoing basis afterwards. All the staff we interacted with were helpful, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about dogs. The facility was clean and safe. It was clear Rocco had enjoyed himself when we picked him up. (I was a bit worried Rocco would be a different dog when he came back, but he’s still the same happy, energetic boy he was when we dropped him off; he’s just more obedient and is able to calm down when it’s time.) Piper, our 4 yr old, exuberant Welsh Springer Spaniel did the 2 week board and train program, and has been home for 2 weeks in a crazy, busy household of adults, children and babies during Christmas. We were very reluctant to send her away for training, but, we could not have imagined the calm, obedient and enjoyable pet we have now. Our rescue dog Tucker was highly reactive and leash aggressive. We sent him for a 2 week board and train with excellent results. Using the tools and skills we and Tucker have been given by ITK9 we can confidently walk him, and have now adopted him. The ITK9 staff were fantastic and have continued to support us with any questions or problems. I had daisy, my two year boxer, do the three week course. They worked on her recall, leash walking and overall listening. She was well trained upon pick-up, and they had great instructions on bringing her home- the pressure is on us to keep it out, otherwise the dog will go back to old habits . the only thing I think is lacking is the leash reactivity training- although she stopped reacting to dogs on a walk, she still can’t be introduced to other dogs which makes family get togethers difficult - she likely needs to spend more time specialized on this. We are very Impressed our Redbone Coonhound Scarlett just spent 2 weeks at itraink9. She is trained for deer recovery and scent tracking but was struggling with in home obedience. After 2 weeks at Itraink9 she was like a different dog (same personality just well behaved). She is a joy to take on walks and to have in the house. With coonhounds known to be stubborn minded I had some doubts but was 100% blown away! Would recommend Itraink9 to anyone! I really appreciated the pictures and midweek updates.
