I am an Orton-Gillingham-trained tutor, which is an approach that is highly successful at addressing reading and writing struggles. I have been an educator for twenty years and have worked abroad as well as in York Region. I am trained in special education and have a great deal of experience working with children with ADHD, ASD, and learning disabilities.

What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to help students build the skills they need to be successful in school, and become more confident in life. Having worked as a teacher for 15 years, I know the toll it takes on kids' self-esteem when no matter how hard they try, they cannot seem to find success. I am privileged to have found an approach that is highly successful in helping children improve in school.
What inspired you to start your own business?
As a special education teacher, I recognized that there were some needs that I was not trained to address properly, and because of this, my students were not getting the support they needed. My daughter has dyslexia, and I saw a drastic change in her confidence and grades at school once she found a tutor trained in Orton-Gillingham and was able to address her needs in a way that they were not being seen to in school. I decided it was time to make a change, and I became qualified in the same approach. I left the board and started my own tutoring business. Since then, I have helped many students and witnessed first hand how effective this approach is. I feel privileged to have found an approach that is so successful, and am honoured to be able to help so many students find success.

I have two decades worth of experience supporting children in their education and have many qualifications that support learning. I used a highly effective approach that has helped many students become more successful and confident. My lessons are highly engaging, include a lot of games that teach and are tailor-made for the individual. With one-on-one support, your child's abilities will improve, along with their confidence.

Yes, I can provide services over Zoom. Working remotely has actually proven to be more effective for the majority of my students. Technology is a great support for struggling students, and lessons are able to include a lot of virtual games that support playing to learn.
