My husband and I did some pretty extensive research on local photographers when we got engaged to make sure we would land a great photographer to do both our engagement and Wedding photos. The search lead us to Elyse, and we couldn't be happier with our decision. While we were a little intimidated initially as we both arent big on being infront of the camera, from our first interaction with Elyse we were instantly comfortable. We actually couldn't believe the shots that came from a 15 minute session. Fast forward to our wedding, and one of the most important aspects to us for the day was really taking in the moments, enjoying every aspect of the day and not spending a lot of time doing photos or any prep work on the day itself. Elyse completely respected this and still somehow managed to get every single photo we could have wanted with our family and friends, and even managed to sneak us out for not more than 10 minutes at sunset which lead to the most breathtaking wedding photos i've ever seen. We couldn't recommend Elyse enough, her bubbly and energetic personality really is just the icing on the cake that allows you to put forward your best self infront of the camera! We had the honour of having Elyse (and Will) capture our wedding day this past October and it had to have been one of the best decisions we made. She did an absolutely incredible job capturing our wedding day that even after a month we’re still going through the photos again and again just in awe of them. Her and Will have personalities that are just infectious, they are so so fun to work with. They handle chaotic families, crazy heat, unexpected delays with such professionalism! We had an unfortunate circumstance come from a past venue and Elyse stuck her foot out to help us navigate through it all, something we greatly appreciated but really demonstrated her commitment to her clients above just taking photos for them. We just used Due North for our Christmas minis. Elyse was so wonderful and warm to work with. She allowed us to bring our two pups with us, and although they were a bit chaotic, she didn’t bat an eye. Our wedding is scheduled for late August of 2025. Neither my fiance or I have ever really been comfortable in front of the camera, so doing research on local photographers for our big day felt like we were going into the process a little blind. We chose Elyse based on her online portfolio feeling like a great fit for the vibe we want to achieve, as well as based on the rave reviews. Our first shoot was our engagement shoot that happened to line up well with the date Elyse had booked the coach house in Barrie. We went into the shoot pretty nervous as a) we're not comfortable in front of a camera and b) didn't understand how it was possible to get any good photos over a 30 minute session given how long it would take to make us comfortable. I'm happy to say our worries were completely squashed after we saw the sneak peak of our photos that Elyse sent out incredibly quickly after our shoot!
