Disappointing experience at Chef Abod Cafe & Catering. We were charged more than the prices listed on the menu. One item alone was $5 extra, with additional unexplained charges on other items. Despite asking twice, we were not provided the bill/check. Overcharging customers and refusing to provide an itemized check is unacceptable. I recommend others verify prices carefully before paying. Here is my response to your reply below: At the time of ordering, the waitress did not communicate any change in price compared to what was listed on the menu. We only noticed the discrepancy when the total bill amount seemed higher than expected. When we questioned this, we asked for an itemized receipt twice, but it was not provided. Instead, we were told that an itemized receipt could not be given, and the waitress only tried to show the final total, stating that the prices were entered correctly. Upon further checking, we clearly found that the prices listed on the menu were different from the prices entered in the system, with higher amounts being charged. This lack of clear communication and refusal to provide an itemized receipt raises serious concerns about transparency in billing. Overall, this experience was very disappointing and left us feeling uncomfortable and dissatisfied. My aunt took me here for my birthday and it was incredible. I had a lamb dish and my aunt had the tandoori chicken. The portions were huge and very well priced. The food was absolutely delicious my lamb slid off the bone and was seasoned perfectly. Place use to be like 4 years ago fabulous. It has went down hill for the worst. The quality & portions have dramatically decreased & the prices have increased way too much. The tables are tilting to one side the chairs are all torn apart. Before they served basmati rice, now they serve low quality cheap starchy rice. The lamb was old, stale, hard & literally finished in 4 bites, super small meat portions. The service was just as terrible, they brought the appetizers with the main course dishes, played 2 different types of music at the highest volume, each competing with each other. Buddy should close this dump down. Would never eat here again & don't recommend it. Food for two people with barely any meat served, you're going to pay almost $100. To your fabricated false response: Instead of owning up & taking accountability, you're lying, gaslighting & proving to HRM your terrible characteristics & lowly personality. My office used Chef Abod's Catering for a business dinner in Halifax. We ordered the Atlantic Salmon meal with salad, the Tofu kebabs, and dinner rolls, and each item was EXCELLENT! Both the salmon and tofu were incredibly well-seasoned, had such rich flavour, of course, with a Middle-Eastern flair. They also threw in some complimentary grilled pita bread, which was DIVINE.
