We were looking for a company to cut down a Spruce tree and trim trees and hedges. I came across a few companies in my research and called this one for a free quote. They were able to come the next day and left a detailed 2 page quote in our mailbox. The only thing that was missing was the cost to take away the wood. After reviewing quotes, we went with them and we also had a coupon to save $100 for over $500 quote. I asked how much it would be to remove the wood over the phone and was given a cost. We had to wait over a month as there was a recent storm so they got busier. I was told I would get a call the morning the crew would come to let me know what time they would be by. That didn't happen but we received a ring on the doorbell that morning. The crew lead confirmed the work and I asked if they could take away half of the wood. We were expecting the crew to let us know when they were done as there a few things that looked like they didn't do anything. They left the remaining wood close to the fence with some large pieces. I waited a few days before calling to ask about payment and the work I thought wasn't done but on the quote. The crew came back the same day and they rang the bell and I talked to them about one of the trees and a bush. They completed the work and then took a break by the house. I received an invoice in the mail about a week later and could send payment to the address or e-transfer funds. I would have preferred to pay by credit card to get benefits but not a major issue. Not a bad experience and would consider them again for yard work. More...

Hard to believe that this organization has no other reviews on Yelp, so it's our pleasure to post the first. My wife and I are repeat customers and that alone speaks volumes about this organization. Seedling to Stump did such a great job last summer at removing and pruning our trees that inviting them back this year was a no-brainer. As before, they did not disappoint. This year we had 3 trees to be trimmed: * a maple that had suddenly grown tall and wide enough to now bang on our eaves troughs whenever a wind blew* a mountain ash that had likewise put on a growth spurt and was over-shading a rose garden* and finally, a Wichita spruce that was now getting mangy and banging our vinyl siding.Co-owner Amanda Maxim dropped by to scope out the projects and give an estimate. She patiently explained the yearly limits on how much you could safely prune a tree (33%) without endangering its health. We thought the quote was quite reasonable so we went about booking an appointment. We loved how Amanda worked with us through our preferred communication medium, email, to finalize all the scheduling details (well done and so convenient, Amanda!) Richard and his crew arrived punctually at the appointed time and quickly got to work. Within 2 hours they completed the work and were in the final stages of cleanup. As always, the crew did a great job and demonstrated not only skill but also a high level of artistry.  We were especially pleased with the superb sculpting of the Wichita spruce that had been brushing up onto our siding (see photo). Another thing we liked was how cleanly this team works. They always take care to clean up as much as they possibly can after a job in order to make the homeowner's life a bit easier. That may seem like a small detail but to us, it's huge.As before, Amanda pointed us to the senior discount and gladly took 10% off our total bill. We received a very pleasant follow-up email from them saying how much they valued our continued business. Not to worry, folks, we're already planning next summer's projects and can't see us contracting anyone but you! For pleasant service, a great job and excellent pricing, you can't go wrong with Seedling to Stump. More...
