Only one visit so far, and a positive dining experience. Had braised beef noodle soup, steamed shrimp and pork dumplings and lamb pot stickers. The beef noodle soup is a large size serving with a good about of noodles, beef brisket with a bit of tendon, all the meet stewed to tenderness. Soup stock was OK, and there is better out there, but for $8.99, this is still good value. Both the pot stickers and steamed dumplings were excellent. Another popular choice seems to be the fried pancake, filled with ground meat, in a spiral shape.Table service is both efficient and helpful. One minor nit is that the booths are a bit constrictive and seating is limited, seems like a popular spot for locals. More...

We usually order dumplings for pickup but tonight decided to dine brick and mortar style. We ordered too much food - the plates are perfectly sized for sharing. The standouts from tonight’s meal were the hot and sour soup (the noodles were perfectly chewy), the fried lamb dumplings and the scallion pancake. The food came out rather quickly and the booths made our experience feel cozy for a cold Toronto night. More...

I have been going here for over a year now and the food has remained amazing every time I go. As the name of the restaurant states, go for the dumplings. The boiled dumplings are delicious and plump with juice, their fried dumplings are crispy on the outside but all bursting with flavor. The soup dumplings are amazing, the broth itself is delicious and they warm you up inside. The only downside is that over the year, I've seen multiple wait staff and their servers are a hit or miss. Some can be very rude and not care about you until its paying time, and others are very polite and wonderful. Food is 100% worth it. More...

Excellent dumpling restaurant. Casual, made fresh except I am guessing the boiled ones are not but steamed ones are fresh. I love the wontons in sesame peanut and chili oil. I order 3 or 4 orders so that I can have them for lunch and dinner the next day. I overheard a guy asking the waiter for har gow (dim sum) and I started laughing. My cousin has been here many times but wanted to come here for their rainbow dumplings. Well, we got one colour (green) ones. It's located in the original part of Chinatown. We dropped in on a Wednesday afternoon (around 12:45pm). There's plenty of booth seating inside and you can even see them making fresh dumplings in the back. There's a TV in the middle of the restaurant that was playing some type of Asian music show. I was surprised to see that they give you water Korean style. Nice. The menu is massive with dumplings, noodles, rice & all day special combos, cold platter & salads, Northern Chinese cuisine, soup, pork, greens, Szechuan cuisine, chicken, beef/lamb, seafood and dessert. They also have a most popular menu (with pictures) if you need help choosing.- Boiled chive & pork dumplings (#2) ($6.99 for 12) - can never go wrong with this classic combo. The filling was tasty. - Boiled dill & pork dumplings (#9A) ($6.99 for 12) - lots of dill flavour (which I love) but the pork was dry. Meat was way too chewy compared to the other dumplings. - Wonton in hot chili sesame sauce (#21) ($5.59) - my cousin really liked these. The meat inside was very tender and had an interesting mix of peanut sauce and chili oil on top.- Green soup filled dumpling with ground pork (#24A) ($8.99 for 7) - these are green, spinach infused "XLB's". I say that in quotations because it's Chinese style. Wrapping was much thicker than normal. Still good but not quite the same. Random that they give you an odd number of dumplings.- Spring onion pancake (#25) ($3.99) - haven't had a green onion pancake in ages. Nicely fried and went well with the side of hot sauce we asked for. - Minced pork with noodles in Peking sauce (#36) ($8.49) - we asked them to sub in fresh green noodles for this dish. Noodles were fantastic! Great toothsome bite. Minced pork wasn't too salty and it came with thinly sliced cucumbers. This was my favourite dish. It's no frills, cheap and filling. Cash or debit only (minimum $10.00). More...

I've been here about a dozen times, and I've  never reviewed this hidden gem, and I hope I dont regret the reveal. It's in old China town, next to some really good chinese markets. A lot of spicy Sichuan style dishes I love. Their best dishes all come on a secondary menu so it's easy to decide what to eat. The glass noodle salad is smothered is savoury peanut butter sauce, the fish soup is super spicy with meaty chunks of fish that just melt in your mouth. The spicy beef tongue, and tripe is super tender and flavorful. The soup dumplings, fried dumplings are a must try. They have about a dozen more items on the favorites menu that you must try. Pretty good, no frills Chinese food in the area. To be honest there are quite a few just-ok Asian places in old Chinatown. You have to try them to see what the quality is like. I was surprised by how good this place was. BF had the beef noodle soup (I assume it's meant to be Taiwanese style) and we got a serving of pork and cabbage fried dumplings and fried string beans. The fried dumplings were juicy as hell and not too crispy- I would say they're pretty perfect. Flavours were nice too.As for service- it's not great but that's not what you come to a mom/pop Chinese place for. You come here for good cheap food and this place delivers. We're definitely coming back here. More...

The soup dumplings weren't very soupy but they were still tasty, great flavour. The pan fried cabbage and pork dumplings were great as well. I think it came up to about $16/person which was great. Tried the Assorted Vegetable Platter w/Pork, Vermicelli because the picture looked interesting. Didn't know what to expect. The takeout container opened up to actually look like the picture. Nice. Unfortunately, the broth had leaked out into the bag, so there was a bit of mess to clean up first. The best I can describe it is 'one of the best pasta salads I've ever had.' The dish isn't heated, but has a fair amount of kick in a satay-like base. Slivers of carrots, pork, yellow things, cucumbers and a spice mix with these inch-wide really long noodles. A big sloppy, tasty mess. The noodles were challenging with chopsticks due to how long, slippery and heavy they were. Totally enjoyed this, ended up with enough for lunch tomorrow. More...
