Combinate.Me ... an agency (I didn't know the difference).
$33,000 and $7,000 for changes.
I was charged $234 monthly for hosting and maintenance. I had to pay for any changes and errors, that were not part of the orginal 'functionality' list @ $155, and $195 p/hr.
I do not own my website (and I didn't know that I wouldn't own it).
I would have to pay $5,000-$7,000 to move it to another company to set-up.
After sustaining a brain injury and finding errors in the website, the CEO refused to extend the Warranty.
I couldn't use their software for the Backend to export a mailing list of emails. I asked and asked, and they wanted more money at $195 per hour.
Beware: list EVERYTHING, all forms, functions, pages, download items, drop boxes, EVERYTHING before agreeing to any money.
I wish I had never met this CEO.
I spent $40,000 on a basic website.
For this amount of money I could have built an Animal Management System that every animal rescue in Australia could have used and benefited from.
Over-priced and under-deliver.

Hi Dee, Thank you for sharing your experience, and I am sorry to hear about your brain injury. That is genuinely difficult, and I have real sympathy for what you have been through. I do need to correct some of the details in your review, both for accuracy and for anyone reading this. Ownership. You own everything we built for you: the code, the designs, the content, and the data. We do not retain or claim any rights to your project, and you are free to take all of it at any time, at no cost from us. The $5,000 to $7,000 migration figure was an estimate provided by another agency to move your project to another platform. We did not charge you for releasing your files, and we would not have. Hosting. We offered you 12 months of free hosting because we believed in what you were building and wanted to support the project in a way we could. That offer was about backing your mission, not resolving a dispute. Warranty. Your warranty period was extended beyond our standard terms. Every warranty has to end at some point, and I am sorry the eventual conclusion was not what you hoped for. Scope and change requests. Our hourly rates and the process for out-of-scope work are stated in the signed agreement before any deposit is paid. Any changes outside the original scope are quoted in writing before work begins, and was only completed upon explicit approval from you. Email list export. Your subscriber data is yours. You could export this data yourself through the admin, and we provided a quote to automate the process using the email marketing tool you chose.
