What do you love most about your job?
My first "ah ha" moment a few years ago was when I was standing in a police station line. I witnessed something very distressing and when I left, I felt that as a designer, the issue that occurred could be fixed by good quality design. I did my whole masters based on this problem and I quickly realized that in complex contexts with complicated stories, design solutions can be simple. That's what I love about interior design.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started Zao Create at the beginning of 2020, because I believe great design should be accessible to everyone. When we experience places that are designed according to our needs and are extensions of ourselves, we experience a sense of dignity. I wanted a name for my design studio that incorporated my values and design philosophy. Zao means to be alive, refreshing, efficacious, stable, and of course, this is what I want to create.

Interior Design
I provide interior design for residential and commercial spaces. My services can be adapted to suit smaller or larger budgets and include decorating, styling, full construction drawings and project management.
Consulting
On site or online, I offer design advice for a wide range of interior sizes and uses.
Styling
I provide design inspiration and know how for:
- creating a visual story within your home or work space that reflects your brand/ personality.
- that property you’re selling
- that photoshoot you're doing
Drafting
Need a drawing of a room or an item of furniture that needs crafting? I am able to provide shopfitting and construction plans.
Submission drawings
I am able to assist with submissions to council and center management for your restaurant design.
Decorating
I provide a design scheme for your home, office, or restaurant that includes, soft furnishing, style boards, and my extensive knowledge of suppliers and installers.
