Depending on the service required. In addition to Full House Design Services, Schonken Interiors offers E-Design Services, Compact Design Services, Consulting Design Services, and Commercial & Hospitality Design Services. Each service features its own design process.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
The style I use is transitional, blending traditional and contemporary elements to produce an end result that is timeless.
What do you love most about your job?
Making everything around me beautiful is my passion, and that is how I enjoy spending my days. I do not function in an environment that does not lift my spirits, thus I want to share my true passion for interior design with my clients and better their environments & living spaces. I believe 'good living' begins with a fulfilling lifestyle and a beautiful home. I am as passionate about daily living as I am about beautiful interior spaces. I believe they go hand in hand.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Schonken Interiors & Lifestyle was born out of the spontaneous love and desire to surround myself with beauty. I graduated with a degree in Industrial design and worked in various creative fields since finishing my studies in 2010.
​In 2015 we renovated a property that my husband and I bought and quickly realised, after jumping around in various design fields for the past 5 years, that I wanted to channel all my energy into the interior design field. I believe that my background in Industrial Design and the years I spend in various design fields thereafter helped to strengthen my offerings to my clients and to have a better understanding of different processes when working with contractors on a project.

I guarantee a unique end product for each client because my style is unique and I don't copy and paste from previous projects.

E-Design Service

eDesign is great for someone that requires assistance with the layout of spaces and sourcing furniture that can easily be purchased from retail stores & online. The amazing part of eDesign is that I can help you no matter where you are, practically from anywhere. It is all done remotely. I will require all necessary detail, such as house plans, photos of the areas, and a list of the rooms you would like me to focus on. I will develop beautiful mood boards, followed by a selection of carefully selected furniture, decor detail, and a floorplan to guide you through the installation phase. The main goal of the end result is to provide you with a digital design binder to enable you to create a beautiful home with ease. Timeline: Estimated 4 - 8 weeks from start to completion. Investment: eDesign starting rates are R 2070 per room. The total investment can only be determined after requirements have been reviewed. What is Included? What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
During visits to clients, all suppliers, including myself, wear masks. We also offer our clients the option of leaving their homes for a short period of time during installation and we sanitize the house upon departure.
Full House Design Service
This service is an End-to-end Interior Design model. You would hire me with the intent to get everything taken care of and I would manage them all on your behalf. Let me help you from concept to completion. This service is designed for clients with very limited time on their hands to focus on their projects and possibly overwhelmed by all the choices and options available but also desires a well-planned transformation.
I will guide you to a beautiful space that feels refreshed, classic, and timeless. Allow me to be by your side, creating custom interiors for a renovation or new build that will stand the test of time.
Timeline:
The timeline for each full-service project differs and can only be determined once the scope of work has been discussed. Normally projects last between 4 - 12 months.

Full service is a fantastic choice for those that are in the beginning stage of a project, where ideas are not yet set in stone. Consult Design Service
Allow me to be your 'interior therapist' for two hours. The Interior Consult service will provide you with answers to pressing questions regarding your home's environment and spaces - how to better your spaces and what changes you can possibly consider.
This service is a 2-hour consultation that will be filled with valuable information to get you started onsite or via a virtual tour.
Direction can be provided to construct a renovation, layout, colour consult, material & fabric options, and combinations.
Timeline:
This is an instant service which will take 2 hours. Timeline from when you book a consultation to the first date I have available in my schedule will impact the timeline.
Investment:
2-hour meetings start at R 2875 incl. VAT per session. Traveling fees will apply to certain areas.

Who is the service ideal for?
This service is ideal for someone that would like to handle a project themselves, but just needs another pair of eyes on the project and to brainstorm the best way to invest & execute the project.

Compact Design Service
Do you need help with smaller installations such as upholstery, wallpaper, window trims, etc? I will charge a fee to visit your home, take measurements, source, and arrange installation. This service is best suited for clients that need a quick hand on a small update in the home. The service is applicable for one or two requests and not for full room makeovers.
The service is ideal for someone that requires wallpaper & installation, window treatments, upholstery, custom furniture, wall treatments, or sourcing of something specific such as artwork.
Timeline:
Estimated 3 - 6 weeks from start to completion.
Investment:
To be quoted according to the service request.

Hospitality & Commercial Design Service
A brand, as well as all visual representations of the company, should reflect the story of the company. I carefully curate elements surrounding the brand into the design proposals.
Bakeries, offices, private schools, delis, AirBnB accommodations, and boutique hotels are among my hospitality projects. Well-designed spaces should welcome guests and clients while allowing them to create their own unique experiences. Rather than copying social media trends, hospitality businesses should develop a style unique to their region.

My objective is to provide a clear communication regarding budgets, timelines, and quality while managing and guiding your project.
