Unprofessional and incompetent service. I took over communication on behalf of my sister who was dealing with repeated inaction to fix what they admitted was a shoddy patio project. Concrete left flowing into flowerbeds, uneven brickwork with chunks of cement sticking out of the sides, broken bricks, debris left everywhere, etc. "Rodney" admitted his project manager had been "high" when he did the work, and promised to fix it. Instead repeated attempts to communicate were ignored. When he finally did respond to set up an appointment he missed it with no explanation or apology. His cavalier, blatantly rude attitude and refusal to follow up exhibits an inability on his part to run a business. Left with atrocious work they clearly do not intend to rectify. Avoid at all costs. Rod’s Paving Solutions did an amazing job at my house, the guys were on time and very professional in everything I asked of them.
Let me start from the beginning, when I loaded my details and what I want done on the Bark website Rod was the first person/company to contact me. Others contacted me as well but upon meeting Rod and discussing/receiving his guidance on navigating my paving needs I knew that he and his team would be a good fit. In the way he provided feedback I could see that he is friendly, positive and has a creative mind. I will recommend Rod’s Paving Solutions to any one for all paving needs.
In summary Rod’s Paving Solutions is your paving experts. My paving came out great and the boss (my wife) is ecstatic with the outcome.

I had 33 square meters driveway paved. Guys started working at 10h00 the morning on the 1st day, 13h00 the second due to logistical issues with delivery on bricks. The job was eventually completed at 12h00 on the third day. 2 day job completed over 3 days. The paving was ok, not impressed. Job was complete on the 26th and requested an invoice with guarantee to be endorse on invoice. No invoice. I requested again on the 15th, 17th and 21 Dec and still no invoice. Making excuses to client as how busy he was and problems he was having with transport. I do believe that customer is king and should treated that way. hopefully I will get my invoice today 22 Dec 2021. More...

Rod was quick to respond - so quick, I was surprised. I was even more pleasantly surprised when I got his quote and it compared very well with my own calculations of the cost of materials. He came to my house to measure up himself even though I had given him the measurements and then he revised his quote downwards. 1. Agreed start date Tuesday- 15 June, work only started Thursday 17th June
2. Completion time period agreed -2 days - job completed 21st June , that’s 5 days
3. The job cost me R8 780 , workers ( 2 gentlemen dropped at our house, who started not before 11-12pm and on the last day the started at 16h30 - NO COMMUNICATION as to when they will start or finish ... as the customer you are “ expected “ to be home. Workers Finishing time 17h00.
4. I will NOT recommend Rod’s Paving to my family, friends and any hardworking South African.

It was your own decision to start the project on the 17th June 2021, due to the public holiday on the 16th June 2021 and it must be noted that it was you who insisted on paying the deposit in cash on the day that my team arrive on site (as per our telephonic discussion and WhatsApp message dated 11 June 2021 @ 17h34). You were informed that we are dropping a team off in Parow, before coming out to your place. You were also informed (as my team departed from Parow), that they will be arriving at your house in a couple of minutes. That WhatsApp message was send to you on the 17th June 2021 @ 8h46. The other site was 10 minutes away from your house. The team arrived @ 9am and not 12 o'clock as you claim. It must be highlighted again that you insisted on paying a cash deposit on the day my team arrive on site, thus making it impossible to secure stock from the supplier. Your decision lead us to run out of stock and we had to wait on fresh stock to come from the production line. It was your action that brough forth the delay. I pride myself in the fact that in spite of the delay, we managed to complete 95% of the project in 2 business days (Thursday 17th June and Friday 18th June) and the rest of the project was completed in half an hour (as confirmed by yourself in your review) on the 3rd business day (Monday 21 June 2021). It must be noted that our emails, telephonic discussions and WhatsApp messages highlight the fact that there was continuous communication between yourself and ROD'S PAVING SOLUTIONS and the fact that you mentioned how much you spend on the project is an indication of "buyer's remorse" and your message had nothing to do with our service delivery. Your review is in no way justified and totally unfair. Note to clients: Please feel free to look at some of the customer reviews and photos of some of our completed projects in the photo section.
