Residential Interior Designers
Our first face to face meeting was on March 23rd to discuss the job. I also emailed him the brief immediately after we met. I received his invoice on the 24th of March and two days later I paid his deposit. He said that the first draft of the changes would be emailed to me within two weeks, after our first meeting. On the 4th of April he messaged me to say that he wasn’t able to send the draft as he had an ‘unscheduled’ trip that just popped up. He never made any effort to make contact, unless I did. I was tired of always following up and on May 24th i eventually emailed Derrick and requested a refund, and his response was that ,he was so sorry and he acknowledged that he didn’t give our project the attention it deserved, and asked if he could continue with the plans. The draft he eventually sent me didn’t meet our brief; and he didn’t have the correct measurements for the layout of the building, even though I gave him our existing plans to work with. His excuse was that he wasn’t able to draft the plan correctly as he didnt have access to the property to do the measurements. Derrick has never asked for access to our property, for any measurements. Long story short, I lost my deposit and lost 3 months of our project time. Now we have to start all over again. More...

Sometimes we run, sometimes we stumble & fall but we dust ourselves off & rise up again. I took responsibility with the Client & tried to reach out & resolve. It's very difficult for a business to always get it right, & for me taking responsibility is a massive part of my ethic & work & personal DNA. We are by no means perfect, but we absolutely 100% try to make right.
