What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I would say being present in what I do and keeping calm. It keeps me level-headed and allows me to think clearly in high-pressure environments.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
It's always very important to manage expectations and to do this I need to be informed about what a client needs or requires. I always try to gauge what my client's needs are and what they are picturing for their brand. Some clients have very specific requirements and expectations whereas other clients want me to art direct and produce the shoot.
Important questions are;
-Can you tell me more about your product?
-Do you have any references, ideas or creative direction?
-Do you need any help with putting together moods, briefs and creative direction and would you need help with the production?
-What is your budget?
-Are you looking for a studio or a location shoot?
-Is there anything that you don't want from the shoot? Any previous shoots that turned out non-satisfactory? (If I have an idea of this I know what to avoid)
What do you love most about your job?
Honestly, the best part is pressing that button. hehe, no I'm joking. I enjoy the whole process from beginning to end. I love building a relationship with my clients, working together and coming up with ideas, moods and artistic direction. I enjoy learning more about my clients and how they see and picture things. I love building on ideas, concepts, relationships and then having everything come together in a beautiful symphony of clicks and flashes. The euphoria after a job is definitely something I live for.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I wasn't inspired to start a business. I was inspired to take pictures but If I want to be creative and take photographs, then running a business is just the part of it that comes with being a photographer.

Retouching
Retouching includes any form of photo manipulation or photo enhancements using Adobe Photoshop. I retouch all my images and invest a serious amount of effort and high level of perfection when I retouch images. I am able to deliver high end results or basic touch ups based on the client's needs.
Product Photography
I am available for any type of product photography needed wether it's shooting to deep edge or shooting with high end results in mind. I have 4 years of assisting experience working for some of South Africa's most talented product photographers and apply my knowledge to my own work.
Beauty and fashion photography
My speciality is beauty and portrait photography and it's what I excel at. I am confident in directing subjects and easing them into the process of being photographed. I am highly skilled and knowledgeable with photographic lighting lighting and studio setups which means I am able to highlight the best part of people's features and bring out a certain type of personality using just lighting. Combining calculated lighting setups and my calm and gentle way of directing subjects I am able to deliver not just exceptional results but also an experience that is not quickly forgotten.
