What’s your interior design process?
Our consultation includes the following (Applies to Local Residents):
- A site visit where our inshouse designer consult with you to measure and plan your areas
- Detailed pictured shopping list including larger décor i.e. rugs and paintings, scatters etc..
- Detailed fabric planning of all upholstery items specified
- Sketches of customised items to be manufactured by us
- Upon delivery of all you items, we will be on site to assist with installation
- Please note this service does not include any curtains or window coverings
Our consultation fee for the above is R1,500. However, upon placing an order of more than 50% of the order value specified by us, this fee will be refunded to you in full.

Which interior design styles can you cater for?
We carter for all styles, but if we had a preference, it would be modern retro and Scandinavian style. We also include a modern industrial look. Whatever the clients preferences are, we try to accommodate as much as we can.
What do you love most about your job?
We love problem solving. We love furnishing houses from blank canvas to fully furnished. We love collaborating with other interior designers. We love the smell of wood that lingers in our showroom.

We can provide an online service with regards to furniture proposal, and some guidance on fabric choices for upholstery items.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We have abided by all COVID-19 Safety protocols. Wearing of Masks. Limited Contact with other customers by controlling our main entrance. Sanatise stands are placed at the entrance and exit of the showroom.
Interior Design
Complementing our bespoke furniture design service, our Knysna showroom offers a turn-key interior decorating service, headed up by an experienced interior design team. Our interior décor studio comprises a wide selection of the latest fabrics represented by the leading fabric houses.
Our interior decor team consults with customers to assess individual needs and expertly guides them through colour scheme consultation, space planning, window coverings and upholstery.
Tailoring
Not the size or style that you are looking for? Fechters’ custom design service can tailor make it for you.
After discussing your individual requirements, our design team designs your bespoke, made to measure furniture using CAD software packages. We then supply drawings and a detailed quotation. Fechters are happy to work with Architects and Interior Designers to bring your interior to life.
Each item manufactured by Fechters is created with care and attention to detail. All of our products combine good design with time honoured construction. The end result is a truly unique and individual piece of furniture that will be a pleasure to own.
Local Shipping
Fechters provides a shipping service to most locations within South Africa. Transport is undertaken by an independant owner/driver that provided us with excellent service for many years.
International Shipping
Fechters gladly assists with the export of our products. Our assistance includes the following:
– Obtaining of quotations from farwarding agents
– Packaging and crating of products for export
– Assistance with export documentation
– Delivery of products to local address prior to export
