What do you want to accomplish with your website, the main goal?

I like seeing a design come into being, from a simple sketch or wireframe. I like solving all the little technical and aesthetic problems. I like how it comes together bit by bit. I like coding itself. I like pretty much all of it, including working with difficult clients and seeing them satisfied with the final product.

It all started when I developed a website for the company that I was working for. The website did really well and soon I had all the customers requesting website development for their companies. I then started developing websites on the side with the permission of my boss. As the word spread I got so busy that I had to resign from my current job to be able to keep up with the demand. I now have a small team of 2 developers and my self as well as a digital marketing professional to ensure that my customers have access to all sources to not only have a great website but also have access to market their websites in the best way.

I could say what everyone else says like:

I will rather tell you a story of a very difficult client that is now my best and happiest client.

I developed an E-commerce site at the start of lockdown for a customer that only sold their products door to door and cold calling. Since travelling was not permitted his business could not generate any sales by using their current methods of sales. An old customer of mine referred me to them and they gave me a call.
I had an online Google Hangouts meeting with them where they described their issues and needed a quick solution. I recommended an ECommerce website as this will not only create another source of sales but also increase their area to make sales from local to national.

We discussed the website and I also recommended a small campaign on the completion of the website to generate sales and create awareness. The customer agreed and the work commenced. The deadline was tight but it was needed as the business could not afford to stop sales for the duration of the lockdown. I completed the website a day ahead of the deadline and the customer was very happy and impressed with the functionality. He, however, informed me that he could not spend more money on a campaign for sales.

A week went by and the customer was not very happy as he thought that the website would just start making sales from the first day, this of coarsely only happens if you already have a strong online customer base and audience. I then ran a small campaign for a week at a cost of R550 with the agreement that if it worked I will handle all his future marketing. At the end of the 7 days, the customer made sales of over R48 000 which not only paid for the development of the website but also paid for his first big campaign with some money to spare.

I always strive to not only get customers but also to build real relationships that carry on by offering them the right solutions for their situation.
