Thank you Mariette, it is always a difficult journey when one starts the counselling process, but once the healing has occurred, it is fun to be alive and the coping skills make one realise that life is worth living and can be a joy. So glad you found the Wellness Therapy beneficial.

Q&As

I lost my sister through depression and made it my life project to help people heal. I am not judgmental as I believe that each person has a story. I love to see the healthy result after I have helped a person through counselling and getting their spark back, whether it is in their personal lives or in their business lives. When people tell me that I had made a vast difference in their lives and stopped them from suicide or making the wrong decisions, then I know that my purpose has been fulfilled.

We all deal with loss or trauma in different ways. However, it is especially important that we need to deal with it effectively or we fall prone to various illnesses. Most Illness is only addressed symptomatically, and the core reason often ignored if not voiced by the person, however the person does not always realize that the cause stems from inner issues never dealt with before.

I cannot make people choose me, as you can never please everybody all the time. I can only assure them that I will assist them to heal if they will allow me and if they will work with me. I can only assist if the person really wants to heal. Through my many years of experience I can only assure clients that I will do the best I am able to bring them to a point of healing. One must feel comfortable with a counselor and know that it is their safe place to fall.

Services

We all need to have the means to rid ourselves of emotional toxins and find a calm pond in our lives to dwell in. As a therapist, I assist the client through the correct coping skills to manage their stress and trauma and work through it.
Wellness therapy is sometimes combined with the use of various mediums such as various forms of Art and journal-ling. Used together in therapy they become powerful tools, which allow us to feel with our senses & enable us to start the healing process within our mind, body and soul.
When used in substance abuse, the tool used is any art form, be it writing, music, painting, sketching etc. works as a diversion and calms the mind.
When used in marital stress and discord VARIOUS ART FORMS may be used as a form of self-expression making allowance for calmness and clarity of the problem in our own mind first, then assist us to address the problem.
While in depression, art in any form becomes a coping skill which then allows the brain to focus on the positive using your various senses. Once your senses work together, the focus shifts to other mental stimuli.
We all reach stages in our lives where we have been subject to some form of heartache or experienced trauma, loss, sadness, rejection, etc. and feel we are unable to cope. This is not a shame factor, it is a reality and is normal as we deal with many traumas in our lives.

I assist with group therapy for companies who would like me to do Stress therapy sessions and coping skills with their staff. Their is a lot of fear involved with Covid-19 and the fact that people are loosing their livelihood, makes people loose hope. I assist in helping people to cope and to start over.
