My family and i(4 adults and 2 kids) visited Asami's Stellenbosch on Saturday. 1st time at this location, as we usually make use of the Tygervalley branch. We had a lovely experience, the food was delicious and the waiter(Leegan) was exceptional. We really enjoyed the location, lovely view of the golf course. On Saturday 11 September, I ordered takeaway for collection for dinner for my family. We were very disappointed. The order took more than an hour to prepare - about an hour and 15 mins. We were given two tiny tubs of soya sauce for a big order of sushi. No extra ginger (that I had ordered), and the sushi was poor. We in fact stopped eating it cos it wasn’t tasty at all. Forced into buffet by waiter. No decent food on the belt. Had to order California roll prawn for my 11 year old daughter. Was then forced to pay for buffet R170 each after not eating much due to option available on belt . When querying with waiter, told that he manager said he will not change our buffets. Definitely not value for money and one of my worst eat out experiences (including the rundown bathroom with no hand drying towels and broken hand-dryer in Covid times). Been here plenty of times with my kids, but won't be going again. It's just getting worse. Super slow service with food and payment. Staff not the friendliest. Felt quite dirty - menu's, soya sauce containers, etc - and all this during Covid-19! Small variety of sushi on the belt.
