My inverter that was installed by Johan went faulty. I phoned Johan on a Friday evening. He spent time over the phone to see if he could sort it out. Monday morning he was here and spent a few hours with Deye support to see what the problem was, but eventually had to hand it in for a repair. It is now sorted.

Converted the electric plate stove to gas and the geyser to solar with a 2kw backup electric element .
Asked Johan (MyPower) what system I should consider.
Due to Eskom load shedding, the gas stove and solar geyser already installed, he advised a 5kw setup.
Quote was less than 2 other potential suppliers, accepted MyPower.
Deposit paid, installation date agreed.
On the date, team arrived, installed, programmed, and instructed me on what to do - nothing, it is automatic!
Team cleaned and tidied up before departure, neat and professional work.
But, sometimes I forget that I have 5 kw, switch on the kettle, toaster, coffee maker, want an early after breakfast shower, switch the geyser on, and the system works as intended, the system trips!
WiFi, lights, fridges and deep freeze also running in the background, so not unexpected.
Automatically restarts after a minute.
Summer power cost, zero for 5 months of the year, when winter rolls around, 20% maximum.
Based on projected electricity price increases, system should pay for itself in 8 years.
Bonus, from my phone, wherever I am, I can log into the system and check performance.
