What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We have adapted to accommodating social distancing practices and using personal protective equipment. So far, since the advent of Covid-19, we have not had a case of contraction to the virus among any of our In-Patient clients.
Private Counselling Therapy
Addiction can be a vicious circle and can spiral into a lonely and alienating time. The root of an addiction varies from person to person, but the journey towards a better path is possible when you have support around you. At New Journey Treatment Centre (NPC) we know and understand addiction, and are here to help you take the first step on the road to recovery. Addiction is a battle you can’t fight on your own and at New Journey Treatment Centre (NPC), you’ll never have to. Here, you can count on having a support team at your service at all times.
In-Patient Therapy Programme
We employ a full-spectrum approach with clinical service in a homely setting. This includes a GP
consultation upon admission, and access to all services on site such as group and individual therapies
with our professional staff, i.e., Recovery Coach, Life Coach, Recovery Assistants, Social Worker,
Psychiatric Nurse, Psychologist (as needed [for now on Zoom]), as well as sessions with our consultant
Psychiatrist who specializes in addictions therapies. Detoxification assistance is provided as needed.
An Individual Development Plan is concluded within the first week post admission. This plan is decided
in collaboration with our multi-disciplinary team, including information briefed from psychiatric
assessments and consultations. This plan considers the unique individual history of our client, their
current circumstances, and aspirations as divulged and / or measured by the team of staff.
Our seminar instructional content includes Addiction Theory, Recovery Tools & Mechanisms, as well as,
but not limited to, Life Skills. Our approach includes a combination of various evidence-based programmes
from around the world, such the Minnesota Model of wholistic therapy, Therapeutic Community
structures, some Matrix content, and the locally approved Time to Make a Difference Programme.
Options for AfterCare, Step-Down Programmes, and Extension of Treatment are optional and most often
at least one of these are recommended for post Primary Care Treatment phase. Family consultation and
conjoin meetings are also part of the therapy programme, and family education and support is provided
so as to assist with moving on and forming a mutually beneficial support network.
We are a registered substances addictions treatment facility, and as such we comply with standards as
set by the Department of Social Development, and, in addition, we also comply with standards
compliant with Health Professions Council of South Africa.
