Elaina and her team really put together a fabulous Wedding lunch for our families!! I asked to keep it simple, but Elaina went a step further and made the day elegant. We had 24 guests and they all complimented the service and the food.|We stayed in the honeymoon suite and that too was lovely. The Woodlands team looked after us for our wedding with fantastic care and attention. Just been here for 2nd Christmas party, last one was good, this was even better. We arranged to stay over night, room was comfortable with No Complaints. Party night was very Organised, food was simple superb excellent choice and served piping hot with great detail adhered to, service was top class and 2nds offered, which we cudnt take(stuffed). It's quite simple - if you are looking for a wedding venue save yourself some time and go with the Woodlands. David and all the staff go above and beyond. The only thing we had to worry about was enjoying our day!||||The overhaul in the ballroom looked seriously impressive when we booked but couple that with the Christmas decorations and everyone blown away by it. The food was second to none and no one went hungry that's for sure. We stayed for one night. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a Jacuzzi bath. I found the room a little dark but the dreadful weather may have contributed to this. Breakfast was good. We were late and the bacon looked very dried out. However a new batch of bacon arrived out from the kitchen which was lovely. The leisure centre was great with a lovely pool with areas for kids. My wife and I got married in the Woodlands in December 2019. We cannot speak highly enough of the Woodlands and their staff. The whole process was just faultless. This hotel will always be special to us as we had our wedding reception there in October 2019. The place is so homely and inviting. It's a family run hotel and from the moment you walk in the door you know that straight away, you are welcomed with open arms. The staff go above and beyond for guests, it's clear they are well trained and respected by their employers ,they are all so enthusiastic and passionate. The food is hearty,local and full of flavour. We've had everything from Sunday lunch to afternoon tea, breakfast and our wedding meal and we cant fault one thing about the service or the quality of food. Special mention to David Fitzgerald , he looked after us so well and he is such a professional. Also staff member Monica- the definition of a lady. We were down from Wicklow for a family funeral and were lucky enough to be able to stay in the Woodlands. It is a beautiful hotel and fabulously decorated now for Christmas. We have stayed many times before and it is always lovely but this time they really excelled them selves with customer service for us as guests. We have an electric car and needed to charge it but did not have the necessary lead with us for the hotel charger we were suffering from real range anxiety when we spoke to staff at reception. Jonathan on reception quickly found a solution for us and let us plug in our 'granny lead' in the staff houses and brought us there and helped us to get sorted. Well done to all in the woodlands. Just spent Tuesday night 26th in the Woodlands. Had lovely comfortable stay. The meal in Timmy Macs Restaurant was lovely. Baked Alaska for desert, blast from the past. I availed of the gym the next morning, loved it, great machines. All the staff were very helpful. We arrived early and the staff was nice enough to check us in early. Beautiful setting in country near the small town of Adare. Unfortunately we were not aware of the huge wedding party that took over the hotel around 3 pm. I understand this hotel does lovely weddings and it is a big part of their business but it was very difficult to get in and around the entrance to the hotel the entire afternoon. Bar area was at capacity and it was difficult to get into Timmy Macs Bistro to have dinner. One we got into Timmy Macs we were amazed at the wonderful food and service. First Class all the way. After our wonderful dinner we stopped by reception and let them know we would be checking out around 4:30 am because of our flight out of Shannon. We were assured this was not a problem. We did get up and out to the reception area around 4:15 am and were met with load shouting and a physical altercation. People screaming, crying and fighting. Wow, didn't expect this from a upscale resort and Spa. Thankfully we did departure the hotel without further incident. I would expect better security from a upscale hotel. I do understand that incidents can and do happen at public events when there is much drinking involved but I did not expect it at the Woodlands and unfortunately will not ever be back.
