How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
Generally most garages where built with the house and are structurally fine however. A couple things to look out for are. Check for Dpc (damp proof course) as this prevents rising damp with garage floors being typically lower than the floor of the home this may not have been installed also If you plan to change the front of your home this may requir planning permission.

Installation of dpc solution if not already in place.
Installation of windows and or door.
First fix electrical, heating, plumbing etc.
Insulation and ventilation system.
Plastering
Second fix electrical, plumbing, heating etc.
Flooring doors ect.

What inspired you to start your own business?
I believed that I could offer a more complete service for my clients that's not achieved by builders in private extensions and renovations.
I understand that an architect is an expensive service and not required for planning except extensions. Also builders would generally build the extension and the client would source a kitchen company separately. Finally quite often the client would be stressed out organising the funds. I knew i could improve upon these things by offering.
