I’d just come home from traveling abroad and was feeling indecisive and unsure about what my next move should be. I knew that I wanted a move away from the hospitality industry but was feeling overwhelmed about which direction to take which caused me to procrastinate. I felt quite stuck, unable to make a decision– and knew that I needed greater clarity and support.

I reached out to Jayson and after our initial consultation I felt working together would be a good fit. His goal orientated approach, alongside CBT techniques, allowed me to make progress while examining thought patterns that were previously holding me back. Jayson is perfect for anyone looking for a deeper insight into themselves, feels 'stuck' or would like more clarity. Jayson was always professional, organised, but also brought warmth and approachability to each session. I would highly recommend working with him.

I came across Jayson’s work during a very delicate time in my life. Most parts of my life needed to be rebuilt. After an initial chat in which Jayson illustrated the kind of work he does, I decided to go forward with the first session. The work together was fun and interactive. The different approaches on how to move forward in different areas of life were practical and achievable. I always felt very comfortable during the sessions, which made it easy to relax and focus.
The biggest surprise for me was the ability to get things done., and get those things done well and done quickly.
Within a few weeks, most of my life had changed in a way I wouldn't have ever considered before. I gained the confidence to apply to college and I'm now at the beginning of my first year.

I would highly recommend coaching from Jayson

I approached Jayson when I was a point where I wanted to start working on my own business and grow more. I felt I needed something to get me motivated and get things done. Having heard about life coaching from a friend, I decided to try it out, as it seemed to fit my needs.
In terms of what I got out of the sessions I most appreciated the discipline that it taught me; the procedures for figuring out how to get things done; the recipes for success/reaching my goals, how it stopped my laziness, and how it helped me to deal with numerous difficult situations. Overall, it showed me how to get at a better version of myself.

For me, it’s been a huge success. I have learned so much from the sessions. It has helped me in all parts of my life

Working with Jayson was life changing both professionally and personally. I really appreciated his calmness and directness (which I requested) – I felt comfortable with him immediately.
I loved learning about CBC (Cognitive Behavioural Coaching) and that Jayson taught me how use the method on my own. It’s been an invaluable skill to me not just professionally, but also personally.

I recommend Jayson wholeheartedly – absolutely and without doubt. I tell everyone about how much he helped me. After I explain about seeing him, that’s when it clicks for them...I’ve changed, I’m happier and more like my ‘old self.

I came to work with Jayson because I was procrastinating on a business idea and I wasn't sure why. Jayson helped me get clearer on what was going on - and why I was putting off taking action on the idea. He's very helpful, and the process is insightful. I'd highly recomend. More...

Q&As

1) I get to help some amazing people important things
2) Seeing someone who has been 'stuck', get unstuck and move forward, and do great things!

I love seeing people fulfil more of their their potential, and building and creating amazing lives, communities and companies.

We all get stuck. Sometimes we're not sure of the right path or decision. Sometimes we don't understand why we do (or don't do) certain behaviours. Sometimes we don't understand why we feel fear, boredom, or frustration. Sometimes we need support in solving problems and space to think. I get a genuine kick out of helping people better understand themselves, their wants and needs, and the practical and psychological barriers getting in the way to them achieving what they want.

I feel privileged to be able to make a living helping people overcome their challenges, move forward and develop themselves. That is what inspired me to start my company.

Excuse the length of this answer – but hopefully it will help you in your search for the right person to help.

There are three main factors to consider when choosing a coach/psychologist.

The first factor is whether they help people with the particular problems or concerns that you have. I particularly enjoy working with people who are ‘stuck’ and want to ‘move forward’. Particular passions of mine, or ‘problems’ I like to help people resolve, are: procrastination, motivation, stress, fear, lack of clarity, decision making and productivity/effectiveness. In short, I like to help people move forward and achieve great things! To do this, I help them to better understand themselves and their current situation; better understand what it is they want and need, and better understand the practical and psychological barriers to them getting those things.

The second factor you should consider is the coaches qualifications, experience and skill. Qualification wise I have a degree in psychology from TCD and a Master’s degree in Coaching Psychology from UCC. I also attend regular supervision and am continuously developing. Please ask your prospective coach about their qualifications and their training. Experience wise I have over 300+ hours. In terms of determining a coach’s skill, I suggest the best way is to try them out. I provide a free initial consultation where you can experience my coaching and see for yourself.

Finally, the most important factor you should consider is the 'chemistry' or ‘click’ between you and your coach. This is really important. Being comfortable with whoever you work with is a key factor in determining success the success of any coaching program. For example, you are not going to be able to explore your deepest beliefs, the causes of unwanted behaviours, or your closest relationships, with someone you don’t connect with. Lack of chemistry, connection or trust, can even lead to defensiveness. This can limit our minds natural creativity, problem solving and planning ability. Centres of the brain responsible for these activities can be hijacked by the fear and stress centres if you are not comfortable. Based on this, I suggest meeting/talking with a few coaches to see which feels most right. I offer a free consultation so you can determine if we ‘click’, and decide if I am the right person to help, at no cost other than your time (valuable as that is).

To sum up, you should always work with someone who’s passionate about your particular problem, qualified, and with whom you ‘click’. So, if your major concern is becoming unstuck or figuring the way forward – then get in touch and we can see if I’m the best person to help.

I can provide either online or in person coaching and consultation.
