What makes a great website?
A great website should have clear messaging, engaging design and an enjoyable user experience. People are busy and their time should be respected which is why you need to be clear and concise with your product. In recent years we have seen websites being peeled back to offer active, on-point information almost immediately upon loading. Large, information polluted sites do not lead to more engagement, if anything this is a deterrent - so to sum up, make sure your businesses online platform is providing quality information that is easy to access and fun to enage with.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Everyone wants their website to reach a target audience and to attract potential clients / customers. With that in mind, some questions that might prove helpful for a business who is looking to get online or renew an existing property would be:
- What are you core services?
- Who are these core services aimed at (demographics)?
- Are you working towards a budget (this is an important question to understand as ultimately it affects the project deliverables and scope)
- What do you hope to achieve with your new website? (what is the expected outcome in terms of attracting people/clients/customers)
What do you love most about your job?
I have always had a passion for coding and website development ever since printing my first ('Hello World') at College many moons ago. I attended LUDO and subsequently BCFE in a Computer Games Design and Development Course, therein was a module on basic web development that just really interested me. I started making websites back when tables were still a thing and Dreamweaver was the go to (if you know, you know) and have spent the last 10-15 years trying to better myself in the many facets of this every evolving industry.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started working for myself almost 13 years ago. I love the idea of creating something for people that can be used to as a tool to improve their own life. Building websites and leveraging technology to attact new customers and build on a product then seeing the results of this gives me a lot of joy. I really enjoy problem solving and employing those solutions to create something unique and engaging.

Yes I can provide all my services online and remotely. I am always more than happy to engage with people over Zoom or Teams to bring a face to proceedings - I feel it's important to have that when 'shaking hands' on a new project.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I work completely remotely and very rarely will meet people in person unless it is requested by the client and is unavoidable.
