Rented the studio for the day and the folks at 50Hz were very helpful.
Clean and tidy facilities, ample equipment and very enthusiastic with odd requests (like the best equipment to use to hang a skeleton! ). I'll certainly be using 50hz again, I'm already thinking up new ideas for next time! More...

Having recently starting to explore 'proper' studio work as an extension to my other forms of photography (mainly motorsport and location based) I've used the Gardiner St studio about 15-20 times over the last 12-18 months. Reading the couple of negative reviews below I was wondering if we are all writing about the same place! I found none of the issues that other people have mentioned. Piotr and Lucasz are friendly, polite and punctual and willing to spend time helping with lighting setup if necessary, although most people I think renting a professional studio already have some knowledge of lighting setup. The lights themselves are numerous although I typically use 3 with the soft and Octo-boxes. The flash triggers are simple and basic with no variable power control (less to go wrong) but this is actually an advantage as you can set the power level for each strobe head as you want. There are several triggers available which is handy for me as I shoot with 3 bodies so you are not constantly swapping over triggers from one camera to the other and losing the flow of the shoot. The backdrop system has just been upgraded meaning more colours are now available. Located beside Busaras and the train station it is very handy to get to and in particular for travelling models to find who have no transport. The Irish Life Car Park is just across the road. As its located on the first floor of an old building the facilities are not what you may find in a modern studio e.g. no kitchen or shower however the basics are there with an illuminated makeup mirror and model changing area and office. There is a cafe next door and shops, sandwich bars etc within walking distance. The main studio has two large sash windows that allow in some nice light in the morning for natural light work (you just need to set up a backdrop). Unlike most studios I have been in, it is a decent size, the online booking system is very handy to check to see if the studio is available. You probably wouldn't be using it for shooting a Vogue cover girl but ideal as a city centre venue, well equipped and reasonably priced, it will be hard to beat!Thanks More...
