At Midlands Affordable Counselling we offer affordable counselling for €30 - €40 per session.

We offer low-cost counselling and psychotherapy services provided by both qualified and student counsellors and psychotherapists.

Student Counsellors and Psychotherapists (€30/session)

All student counsellors and psychotherapists providing support through Midlands Affordable Counselling are carefully selected, thoroughly vetted, work under regular professional supervision, and are trained to a high standard to ensure ethical, safe, and effective therapeutic support.

While they are at the early stages of their professional careers, we believe that student counsellors and psychotherapists bring fresh insight, strong commitment, and a deep sense of empathy to their work. With the support of their clinical supervisors, training institutions, and our first-hand experience, they provide a high-quality and compassionate service that many clients find extremely valuable.

Due to the complexity and specialised nature of certain issues, student counsellors and psychotherapists are not permitted to provide support in the following areas, whether currently experienced or reoccurring:

> Suicide/Self-Harming – current or reoccurring.
> Addiction, active or engaged in a recovery treatment programme – current or reoccurring.
> Diagnosed psychological disorders e.g. personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, eating disorder – current or reoccurring.
> Crisis Intervention of any nature – this includes domestic violence, post crisis debriefing, assisting sexual assault victims, and addressing violent acts.
> Clients who are seeking counselling as part of a legal proceeding and require the counsellor to act as an expert witness or provide a report – current or reoccurring.

These cases require the involvement of more experienced or specially trained professionals. If any of these apply to your current situation, we are happy to discuss appropriate options, including referral to one of our qualified therapists or to an external service better suited to your needs.

Qualified Counsellors and Psychotherapists (€40/session)

Some of the therapists working with Midlands Affordable Counselling are fully qualified counsellors and psychotherapists who are either in the process of obtaining professional accreditation or have chosen to offer a portion of their practice at a reduced fee to support greater access to mental health care.

These practitioners are trained to a high standard, adhere to ethical guidelines, and are committed to ongoing professional development. Whether working toward accreditation or simply dedicating time to affordable services, they bring valuable experience, professionalism, and a strong sense of purpose to the therapeutic work they offer.
