I signed up in January 2018 for 8 weeks of Strength & Conditioning with Storm Fitness. My aim was to learn the fundamentals of lifting weights and to build strength.

During the two months, not only did I get what I wanted but also learned a lot more about training routines, nutrition and fitness. It was an eye opener.

On top of that, I made real gains in my phsyique – I put on 6 pounds of lean muscle, filling out in all the right places and leaning out in the right places too.

Keith was a great trainer, easy to get on with and the course has given me the foundations I need set me off on a path of continued and improved health, strength and fitness.

He also makes a half decent cup of coffee,

I cannot recommend Keith highly enough. He is professional, dedicated and so enthusiastic. If you are looking for a gym with positive vibes, relaxed atmosphere and somewhere you feel equally important whether you are a beginner or advanced, then Storm Body Fitness is the place!

Storm is a great place to train properly, really recommend it. Keith is a great motivator and very professional in his approach. Very happy with the training, good group of lads, learning and improving a lot on the different lifts, and pleased with results after 3 weeks. Trying to lose a bit of weight before a planned holiday in March I went on what I thought was a healthy diet after Xmas, after 5 weeks I hadn't shed a pound! Keith got me to do a food diary over 5 days and told me that I wasn't eating enough calories so my body was in starvation mode and I would never lose weight that way. He did out a healthy eating plan for me which I followed for the next six weeks and by the end of that period I had lost 13 lbs!! I was delighted and cant recommend him highly enough. More...

Just over 12 weeks ago I joined storm bodyfitness. I was out of training for almost 2 years after a serious injury and joined the programme to get me back on track. Keith brought me back to my earlier fitness levels and brought me past my expectations. His guidance on nutrition paired with his infectious energy during the workout helped me lean up but also made me fall in love again with training. I've gone from doing absolutely no kind of physical activity and poor diet to training and eating clean and very happy with the results and achievements I have already made in such a short time Keith is brilliant at motivation I highly recommend storm body fitness whatever level of fitness you are now storm will give you a whole new way and lifestyle

We came to Sligo for 5 weeks with work and didn't want to miss training that we usually do at home. Now I'm sad to be leaving as the training programme Keith took us through was fantastic. He made every session enjoyable and mixed it up each time so that no training day felt repetitive. If you are thinking about starting to improve your health and fitness this is the place to be. Get your foot in the door and Keith and David will look after you. I started 8 weeks ago and how things have changed my mind set my fitness level and health have improved so much and this is starting from scratch literally from sitting on the couch doing nothing to training 3 times a week. I have a long way to go but feel I'm in the right place. Even though you are in a class of 11 or 12 people you feel like it's one on one training with the attention the lads give. They are very professional and fun and each class is different so you don't know what to expect. No matter what level of fitness or health or age these guys know how to get you on the right track. Keith's ethic is fantastic. He always provides a hard hitting and varied workout session,he always mixes it up so we're not doing anything too repetitive. Keith has a great upbeat personality which helps drive you,especially on our early morning sessions! He is very good at making sure your body has time to rest and repair between training sessions. Keith is also very knowledgable about muscle anatomy and therefore is strict about stretching and warming up/cooling down the body in a way that supports your workout. More...

6weeks ago I started the 8 week beginner to winner course at Storm Bobyfitness. I have joined many gyms and many classes over the years and have never stuck to any!!! When I joined Storm I was looking for a change, something different, something challenging as I bore easily.. well I certainly got all that and the added bonus of making some new friends within the group I joined and also with Keith and David... our fearless trainers. There is 10 people in my current course with 2 trainers... because the classes are small it might as well be one on one training really.

From day 1 the focus was on technique, time was spent on each weight lifting exercise to ensure we got that right!! Classes ran over time because of this and this was not a problem.. We train 3 times a week and you just never know what is in store until you walk in and I personally love that. Its a great mix of Strenght and Conditioning exercises which will have you physically shaking when your done but the feeling of pride in yourself for getting through the session is amazing.

At the beginning every exercise I did was a modified version as I was just not strong enough... this week I can now do sets of full Push Ups (on my feet not knees anymore �) and also a big win for me Pull Ups.

Yes this is a long post but honestly if anyone is thinking about getting fit the right way DO NOT LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE!!! This is the place for you.

Thank you so much STORM.....what a brilliant 8 weeks...myself and Cos really did go from Beginners....petrified to even walk through the door to even ask about joining a gym the first day to Happy healthier bunnies after seeing our results last night.... 8 weeks of hard training but with a great bunch so lots of laughter too...thanks again David & Keith....from day 1 you made us feel very welcome and empowered us!!!! After years of going to the gym, and generally ending up with the same results - I just got fed up! I am fairly lean naturally so i guess i am lucky. However, I never felt any real enjoyment at the gym - it was a place that I thought I 'should' be going to until I realised it just wasn't for me anymore. When I first joined Storm Bodyfitness, i was nervous as i had never become involved in anything like it before. When I met Keith, he put me instantly at ease. He tailored a nutrition plan which has completely changed my relationship with food for the better. From there, the daily classes, while initially tough, became an absolute joy! At a busy time in my life trying to complete my Masters, work full-time and plan a wedding, I was worried that I might over do it and become worn out with the 5 day training schedule. I can now say, that during a very busy and trying time, Storm Bodyfitness was my haven. The results have been amazing - I am fitter, stronger, improved skin, hair and overall a 'happier' person. My 12 weeks in Storm actually helped me to cope with the stresses of life - and i know for most people - there are many! I've always wanted to learn how to lift weights but I never thought the journey getting there would be so much fun. After finishing our 8 week Beginner to Winner course, I've found a huge lift in my self confidence, physical strength and attitude to my health. I couldn't get over the improvements and techniques I learnt throughout the course.. I also couldn't have asked for better coaches, Keith and David are so incredibly generous with their knowledge and always had an answer to my million questions.. Started the beginner to winner course and am past the half way mark now and from the first day to now the changes I've seen are brilliant.. but what's more is when other people say it to me too it's even better! As for the 2 lads, Keith and David I have to say they are so helpful and informative and really help push you along and make the classes so easy and more so fun which takes the chore out of going to the gym! I joined Storm Bodyfitness approx 5 weeks ago. While the work outs are hard ... you will become stronger and fitter. I do the classes with Fiona who is one of the personal trainers, each class is different with a brilliant mix of strength training and cardio. Fiona always ensures you are working to your potential, and will adjust the workouts to cater to you, she will also make sure you are training and lifting weights in a safe and informed way. Absolutely brilliant classes. The atmosphere is very welcoming and open to all levels. The classes are always different and very challenging but they are rewarding and very effective.

You never a regret a workout at Storm �

I would highly recommend trying 'Girls Who Lift' class whether you are looking to lose weight, get fit or tone up. The classes are always a laugh and the ladies who attend are great too.

Fiona's style is relaxed yet professional. I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone who is interested in enhancing their fitness and general wellbeing.

I completed my first half marathon this summer with very little long distance training and I strongly believe it was down to my increased muscle strength I developed from the classes.

Okay so today marks that first day of the last week of the 8 week Beginner to Winner course so I figured I'd put something up here while its in my head.
Firstly anyone who knows me can back me up in saying I am a couch potato that loves nothing more than watching 22 episode of a tv series while eating masses of junk. I've always found it hard to keep weight on, I was constantly tired, my skin wasn't great and over all I was just always a bit meh.
I've signed up and shelled out a fair bit in various gyms and for various courses but I can honestly say Storm is by far the best place I have ever been. The team are the most genuine, caring, invested (and most importantly for me) down to earth PT's you could ask for.
The course doesn't ask for MASSIVE unachievable changes to your diet or lifestyle. Just commitment to simple overall changes and giving it socks three hours a week when you're there. And even though the changes aren't massive the results are. I'm now a far better weight, the difference in my body shape is crazy, my sleep pattern and energy levels have improved 10 fold and over all I just feel 100 times better.
For anyone considering doing anything with these guys all I can say is do it I promise you won't regret it. You won't feel that awkward "what am I doing here" the first time you walk in. You'll never be lost or confused about what to eat or how to do something when you're in there. All you'll get is support and results.

I joined Storm looking for motivation and results and that's what I got! Their 8 week programme is perfect way to get you back into the swing of things and get you re-started!

Keith and David are the bomb! Theses lads really know what they are talking about! They are able to address all areas that you may struggle with and offer you easy and simple solution to get yourself on track!

I moved to Sligo in January and looked at a few of the local gyms but this is the one I stuck with. I had been lifting for 5 years before I joined and I felt like I was coming to the end of what I could achieve, but everything changed once I started lifting here. I made more gains here in my first 3 months than I had in the previous 2 years. The trainers were very welcoming and they put me on the right track, I ended up doing a powerlifting competition with them a few months after I joined, which is something I had never done but was always interested in. It is a brilliant place to train in, very positive atmosphere with classes and programs to suit people of all fitness levels and goals, staffed by committed and knowledgeable trainers. Definitely the best gym and training environment in Sligo, and maybe in the entire country. More...
