I rang Sharon back in March as I wanted to be part of a class but not a normal gym. I met with her and it was exactly what I wanted. Sharon was full of encouragement as this was all new to me .... she directed me to her RT24 classes to begin . I joined for the month in March and still going �. She pushed me when I was struggling and I ventured onto different type classes. I had my daughter's wedding as a goal too and after 2 lazy weeks I'm back to continue with SDF �. Sharon knows everyone's strengths and weaknesses and her encouragement is unbelievable. How she keeps going beats me. She always has the laughs and the hugs ready to keep her clients on track. I've been training with Sharon for the best part of 2 1/2 years now! Ever since I won a months class membership back in January 2016 and I haven't looked back since!! My fitness level has improved immensely, I sleep better and I have lost a good few inches along the way :-) Her classes are so varied (with a detailed timetable) and there is something to suit all tastes. Sharon isn’t just a personal trainer, she is the BEST there is. She is supportive, and caring of her clients and always pushes you to your limit. I joined SDF in March 2018 starting with the 6 week transformation. I have very poor core muscles due to alot of stomach surgeries, so my excerise was very limited, until I met Sharon. Sharon pushed me everyday out of my comfort zone but within my limitations until I started to get stronger. Every class is tough and no two classes are the same but you feel exhausted and fantastic everytime you finish a workout. After the 6 weeks and many inches lost I continued working out 4/5 times a week with Sharon & Dara encouraging me. I then started the 30 day challenge in June to learn about what foods, are the right foods to eat pre and post training. This was an eye opener, it took me awhile to get the hang of it but it helped me lose another 2Kg and 41/2 inchs in that month. It really is a lifestyle change. The gang you train with are the nicest, friendly bunch of people you can meet. There is no judgement as everyone is on their own journey. I started in May with Sharon for the 6 week transformation classes and still going 15 weeks later. Classes are tough and no two classes are the same. I have lost weight, toned up, got stronger, eating better, feeling great about myself and full of energy. Been training with Sharon 9 months and absolutely love it, classes are brilliant, she takes a personal interest in everyone of her clients and knows wat they are able for, encourages you all the way, great atmosphere in every class, great bunch of people, no ones looking at anyone, everyone just there for the same thing, was terrified wen I first walked in, didn't know what to expect or if I'd be able!

I started with Sharon just under a year ago with no desire for a gym ,had no motivation what so ever , I didnt even want to look at myself in a mirror I simply didn't care about ME! I use to dance for hours and hours a day and was so flexible and active but that all stopped! I was so nervous when I first joined didn't know what to expect , I didn't like being somewhere out of my comfort zone I just didn't want to be disturbed but I can tell you now hand on my heart starting with Sharon was one of the best things I have EVER DONE! Sharon has not only become the best trainer in the world to me she has also become my friend,�
SDF is a place where hard work is done and is recognised by every single person around you including yourself! Everyone in SDF wants nothing but the best for you! I have met so many new friends both men and female and I'm telling you now from a personal experience you will not be disappointed I never thought in a million years I would have an obsession with lifting weights and actually being annoyed at myself over not going to the gym but by god it's honestly a great feeling!i now even look in the mirror while lifting weights!
No matter what your goal is I can't reccomened SDF enough! I could go on all day about what Sharon has done for myself personally and everyone else in SDF But If I was you id find out for myself because you will never look back!
Sharon is an absolute beast of a trainer, an amazing friend and a fabulous leader, Sharon helped me gain the confidence that I never knew I had , and sometimes there's just never enough thank yous in the world!

I started with Sharon a couple of months ago and have found her approach very supportive, motivational and encouraging. She is down to earth, practical and has a great understanding of the journey people are on not just from a fitness side but a full holistic approach. Tired of wasting enough money over the years joining gyms and not going , back in October I decided to join up for a month with Sharon- today I'm still going and I have no intention of ever leaving!!! Sharon is one of the nicest people you could meet. She is so professional and she believes in every single person that walks through the door, even if you don't believe in yourself. She will push you hard every time , won't ever let you give up , will guide and support you in your training , she knows your limits, she's always there to offer advice or to simply throw out a giggle at any time!SDF is certainly not your typical class or gym, it's more like family where everyone supports and pushes each other to reach their goals or simply just to finish the class on the day, the atmosphere and the craic is amazing ! Started with Sharon a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it. Really wanted to get back in shape after having a beautiful baby boy but kept on using excuses like "im just after having a baby etc". Even though it took me awhile to make the call, im so glad I did. She is so motivational and i can really feel the benefits already.

SDF is by far the best class based gym I have ever been too.... If you like classes this is the place to be!I have been going to SDF since Sept 2016! ...and it’s the main reason I moved back to Ashbourne this year! I've been training at SDF since 2017. From day one Sharon was extremely welcoming and made me feel at ease walking into a new gym. I won't lie (!) her classes are tough and Sharon will push you to your limits (and beyond somedays!!) which is what we all need!! Her classes are suitable for all fitness levels and so varied which I love, and each day brings a new challenge. Sharon, Dara and Gazz are all amazing trainers. They are always very attentive and supportive if you're struggling with anything. I find taking one hour to myself a few days a week give me more energy and my fitness levels have definitely improved. I would recommend anyone to come along to SDF classes and give them a go. Sharon Doherty is honestly a first class trainer. She knows each and every one of her clients and knows everybody's ability and limits. In over 20 years of training I don't think I've ever enjoyed it so much. Every class is different, we never know what to expect! Training is tough, I crawl out of every class but it's tough for reason. She genuinely wants everyone to get fitter and stronger. Really cannot recommend her enough. I coach a team of minor footballers and can get them fit and in shape for games. But when I comes to my own fitness I had let it go for a long time. I heard about Sharon from a good friend of mine and I finally decided to do something about my weight for myself. I have been a member of SDF for 10 months and to say the least that it was the best decision I made for myself in 2018 . It took me a few days of encouragement to make myself call Sharon but when I got speaking to her, it all seemed the right thing to do . I started with a six week programme and never looked back. Sharon is always on her rounds during classes encouraging, motivating and pushing you to your maximum ability. In my case she understands my upper body weaknesses but is on my back if I’m not working to full potential everywhere else. I have found that with training on a regular basis that I no longer require as much physio to keep me mobile which is unbelievable after several years of needing it to be pain free. I absolutely love the vast variety of classes and training under Sharon, Dara or Gazz is always tough but rewarding and challenging. Over the past few months family and friends have commented on my “weight loss” which is very little by numbers but I have toned up and gained muscle and have had to get clothes altered to fit better , so I am well chuffed with myself and very grateful to Sharon and her SDF team for their encouragement as well as the amazing fellow members who are always so helpful, friendly and always beside you to get you through a session . Very into exercise and pushing myself through ‘my own’ exercise regime, I started to struggle. I’d been in an accident and struggled with pain and strength and then gained weight – I just didn’t feel comfortable in my body anymore. So when I got the go ahead to get back to the gym I did and tried it their way and in fairness lost some weight but was on a really restrictive diet. I then tried it my way and again between pain and food and lack of energy it just wasn’t working for me. I’d seen SDF on facebook 100 times and thought about it 100 times but one day it was time.I made contact with Sharon and being honest I was convinced by the time we ended the phone call but we arranged a ‘chat’ and I signed up. Sharon looked at my calorie ‘allowance’ and short of laughing and asking was I mad – said ‘Trust Me …….Just Trust Me’Calories recalculated and access to the group facebook page it was time…..Tried to find a quiet class to start lol not going to happen, so I turned up one Friday feeling like I stuck out like a sore thumb …… amazing group, I don’t use this word in relation to gyms but it’s a community, the girls, the lads, they all encourage each other. Some classes you team up but not left there trying to figure out with who or what – Sharon teams you up with someone, someone that in my experience helps and encourages, and them themselves having been where you are for one reason or another.I remember after a class Sharon asked how I was feeling ‘I said fantastic, but as much as I was in the gym 3-4 times a week it was a long long time since I felt like that after a workout’So 6 weeks in I’d lost weight, down inches, and felt so much better in my skin, fitter, healthier – just better.Anyone thinking about it … Do It, Try It, You Will Feel Better. My wife Tracey introduced me to Sharon and SDF back in September 18 as she had started in SDF before me by getting me PT sessions and classes with Sharon which I am very grateful for .I had never done any PT or classes in my life only football and GAA training . The PT was very tough but brilliant it set me up for the classes which are excellent every class is different and are run by Sharon Dara and Gazz 3 phenomenal trainers not only are you trained but you are watched and helped which I find is huge for getting the best for yourself out of the classes. I'm still there I love the classes and it's the fittest I've been for many years everybody in the classes are great and there's a brilliant atmosphere . I’d never worked out before, I was super nervous about joining a gym and especially going to a class! I was so self conscious and thought everyone would think ‘what is she doing here?’ I couldn’t have chosen a better a place to go to or a better trainer. I’d sent Sharon a couple of msgs to book in and told her I’d never trained before, she was so nice and reassuring. I was still nervous going for the first time but she instantly put me at ease. My first class was tough but I enjoyed it so much, and the same goes for each and every class since! Sharon is so encouraging, supportive and motivating, the very things needed to get the best from people. I always leave a class feeling great, both mentally and physically. I haven’t been doing it long but already my friends and family have noticed a difference and that speaks volumes. I never thought I’d say this about a gym but I wish I could go more often! Sharon herself is an inspiration, a truly genuine and hard working lady. She’s certainly someone I think people can relate to, I know I do, and she makes me feel like my goals are totally achievable. I Joined SDF roughly 3 months ago after having my little girl in June. I didn’t realise the fear and the lack of self confidence I would have coming back training after having a baby. I really felt like I was starting completely from scratch but I couldn’t have been met with a more encouraging training environment. The classes are really tough but you do what you can and you feel so much better after pushing yourself. Having always been relatively fit and active I found it challenging trying to make time for myself following my ventures into motherhood! I had three little blessings and was delighted with life but things were hectic beyond belief. In January 2016 I decided to make the jump and start training with Sharon. Within a matter of weeks I was hooked! Through a combination of classes and clean eating I immediately began to see the changes for the better in my body. However, the mental changes were just as important - my training became my "me" time, a much needed release, and my confidence and positivity increased as a result. Sharon is a wonderful trainer - warm and caring but always striving to push you to your limits in class. There is a lovely atmosphere in SDF and lots of laughs amidst the many groans when things are at their toughest! I never thought that this type of "gym training" would be for me but can honestly say that it's the best thing I have done for myself in a long time! I joined Sharon's classes at the start of the summer & I can't believe the difference it's made to me. I feel fitter, I'm naturally making healthier choices about food without following any strict diet & I feel much better in myself so it's good for mental health too. Sharon is a great instructor, I've no idea how she manages to remember everyone's name let alone their strengths & weaknesses, she know when to challenge & when to encourage. Sharon Doherty is an amazing trainer and a wonderful person. I signed up for six weeks having not really exercised in years and years and 2 years later I'm still going, as often as I can. Her classes are superb and every one of them different. And the results are beyond belief! I never thought that I would look forward to exercising and now I can't stand to miss a class! Have also met a lovely group of people and made some great friends. Wouldn't go anywhere else or to anyone else! The new gym is fantastic and so well equipped. And the timetable is amazing too. I started training with Sharon Doherty nearly two years ago and she has totally changed my outlook on training. No two classes are the same and I don't dread going to the gym anymore. I jus had a baby and had 6 mths till my wedding with no dress. I approached sharon and did a few personal training sessions then started 6 week body transformations. It was the toughest training but most enjoyable training both mentally and physically. But as soon as results started to show I felt brilliant. I loved training sessions and this became my time out from mammy!! By the time my wedding came I was 3 stone lighter and much fitter and felt like a different person . Training became a hobby and I didnt feel like was on a constant diet just choosing better foods!! I even trained on honeymoon and when came home returned to sharon! 2 years later and im about to have 3rd baby and hoping to get back training with Sharon soon as I can. Imagine a girl who paid her monthly memberships in various gyms for months and used it only few times (with very little calories burned). Imagine a girl who was comfort eating all the work or life worries. Imagine a girl who has very few photos with her children because she's to disgusted to look at her body... Well you can only imagine her now, cos SDF made that woman gone!My journey started just over a year ago when that charismatic, beautiful, energetic, smart, thoughtful, hard working woman who took me in and turned my life upside down. From a couch potato to a gym addict (doing 2 classes a day if work allows) or rather an SDF Machine as we like to call ourselves! Sharon's classes are one of a kind, each one is different, each one is pushing our limits way out of our comfort zone but yet are enjoyable and (if only there's a little bit of extra breath left) we even have some laugh ! I love training with Sharon, she's always giving 200% out of her, love discovering new muscles that can ache and love that very personal approach we get from her! For that one hour when I'm in class with Sharon, nothing else matters... Switched off from my day to day worries, there is only me vs that extra weight I can put on a bar with every training or an extra distance I can do on a rower, you name it! My kids are proud of their 'new' mammy and I'm more confident cos I know I'm in the best hands to be a happy me again! I can see great improvement in my fitness levels and overall change in my lifestyle since I joined SDF! Whatever I say it won't be enough because this place is just so special! I can't recommend Sharon enough! I started over 7 months ago and was hooked after my first class. Yes the classes are tough, but in SDF it's the other people who push you to keep going. It's like one big family and everyone is constantly encouraging each other, and as a result it becomes addictive! Sharon always says Rome wasn't built in a day but all those days add up - and there's no better place to spend those days than in SDF!! More...
