This is hands down one of the best places I have ever stayed. The value that I got from this stay was absolutely amazing. It's centrally located to many attractions (Kilkenny Castle being my favorite) . Plus, it's around many other pubs. If you want to do an impromptu pub crawl you can do it safely and stumble back to your room. More...

We stayed at the Rafter Dempsey's when we visited Kilkenny a few years ago. We arrived during the hurling championship game and were still greeted pleasantly (after the game where they lost! ). The breakfast each morning was great, the room was comfortable, and the staff was so helpful and kind. Highly recommended!! More...

What can I say about olive gerry and mikayla we went to a stag all 20 something of us wee were treat like royalty from the second we went in till we left this morning gerry and olive couldn't do enough for us even if we were bowld we had our breakfast every morning and then. Got in here for a lunch. We could choose out of fish, chicken, vegetarian and meat, those four menu's written on a blackboard. And of course a pint of Kilkenny.First of all: very, very friendly staff. A clean place, a good cook. And a good price. The chicken was a stirfry for € 11 and the meat was a carbonara for € 10. There were 14 of us ladies stayed a night, all the staff were so helpful, our dinner and breakfast delicious and great service, the rooms were abit dated but clean and that's the main thing for me, I would definitely stay in rafter dempsys again.

Just back from a two night stay. What can I say we enjoyed ourselfs down to the ground. Celebrating my sister's hen party , the staff were great there was nothing they wouldn't do for us. The food was fantastic both breakfast and dinner was included, great selection on both days. Big thanks to Michael who kept us entertained with the cocktail class on Saturday evening...stilll feeling the effects from it. We had a family Ireland trip (8 of us) and we stayed here for 4 nights and loved it! Definitely don't stay here if you're a light sleeper as it is a bar. .. but since we were up talking/drinking every night, it was fine for our group. We loved the location and we loved the breakfast here! Kilkenny is one of my favorite places in Ireland too... definitely loved this place! More...
