I would highly recommend Pilates Olive Keyes. I am 7 months post partum and found these classes so beneficial. I've noticed a great improvement in my core strength, which has alleviated any back pain post partum. My flexibility is slowly improving thanks to the classes. I decided to try beginner Pilates, having never tried it before.I found the pilates classes excellent at strengthening my core muscles and the exercises are also excellent for my back. The workout that I get is better than any other that I have tried.Olive explains each exercise clearly & gives the class confidence.The class times fit in with busy schedules.I always feel that I have achieved a good workout the day after each class.I would definitely recommend Olives' classes. I am attending Olive's Pilates classes & would highly recommend them. I feel Olive is a master of Pilates & a very inspiring person. I really can't say enough about this pilates class. I have been running for 5 years and recently had some back problems which was caused by weak glutes/ hamstrings so I was advised to try pilates. I contacted Olive and now 12 weeks in and I have no back pain at all. Olive is such a good instructor she really does know her stuff and whenever I go in and say I have a niggle or tightness she sorts me right out. I would 100% recommend these classes. More...

Olive's pilates classes are excellent. Olive gives great instruction on how to do each exercise and modifies each exercise to suit your ability. She is very encouraging and super at motivating you to try your best. I enjoy these classes as I do not necessarily need to be practicing between classes. Since starting Pilates with Olive in January, I have noticed a number of positive changes in my overall well-being. I have had an increase of 200g in my bone density which my Dietician has attributed to my uptake of Pilates. I have learned how to alter both how I sit at my desk and my posture when standing by applying techniques taught by Olive, and this has decreased hip and back pain. My overall flexibility has improved, especially in my hips. I have developed a stronger core and feel that my balance has also improved. By applying Pilates techniques to gym workouts, my recovery from other exercises has been much faster. I have also started to apply the relaxation methods and stretches to my daily routine during periods of high stress which have proven to be very useful in managing stressful situations. I would encourage anyone considering joining Olive’s classes to do so. I have found Olive to be incredibly approachable and patient in her teaching methods. Olive is an excellent teacher who got to know us individually on the first evening & from there she ensured each of us had the proper technique at every stage before she moved on. I’m loving attending Olive’s Pilates class. Olive’s a great teacher, very clear with instruction so you’re always getting the benefit of the exercises. This is my second block of 10 week classes to attend with Pilates Olive Keyes. I was initially hesitant before going to the classes as my interpretation was that it would be very female orientated but I was completely wrong. There is a healthy mix of gender,ages and abilities. I suffer with severe back and nerve pain and the classes with Olive have significantly improved my ability to cope with my back issues , built my core and given me the strength and knowledge to build these exercises/stretches into everyday life. Olive is an excellent instructor and facilitator and can understand the needs of those in her classes with severe back pain after having suffered herself. Olive explains the exercises very clearly and explains the reasoning behind these which is critically important to know what the benefits of these exercises are and what muscles we are using. I would recommend anyone to give these classes a try, they are fantastic value for money (10 Classes are typically the cost of 2 Physio sessions!) and Olive's coaching and encouragement is very personal and motivating. This Men’s Pilates class is a great social gathering for me to meet lads I might not necessarily see very often. It’s brings guys together in a fun but beneficial way. The class has noticeably strengthened my core to help and enhance my ability to carry out every day chores in my job as a construction worker. Olive can’t do enough for us and is very approachable with regard to any queries we may have. Our final few minutes of contemplation and meditation in class every evening leave us very relaxed and send us on our way with clear heads ready to face whatever the world will throw at us. As arriving mid way through a coarse of classes With Olive’s , I found her very welcoming and Olive found out quickly about any back problems that she needed to be aware of so as not to cause injury, Olive kept a good eye on me not to over do it and to do it correctly while also keeping the other members tested and engaged in what they were doing, Olive has a wonderful way of making you do more than you think or want and after you really feel the benefits ,while all the time talking and encouraging each person to realize their full potential on each exercise , Looking forward to what Olive has in store for us after Christmas and Olive will have her work cut out for her with our bunch , but there is no better Woman to test, encourage and get results than Olive ‍♂️

Super Course - Olives Keyes classes have improved my trapped nerve in my neck right down my arm. After 2 MRIs - Olive's classes have given me relief from the pain. Not only that - I sit in my car with a stronger Core on my daily commutes. The classes have added quality and enriched my personal, work life. The meditation at the endd of each class has calmed my mind. Im 43 and commute 3 hours a day to work. Joined Olives Pilate classes five weeks ago.Loving this class,Olive limits her numbers per class, and keeps a very watchful eye on our correct positioning, so u know straight away if ur doing it right. Olive has separated her classes to advanced,intermediate an beginners.I am in the intermediate class, this works so well as the group are all at the same level and can push that little bit extra every week. Every week feel I’m making great progress and that I have had a good workout. Would highly recommend trying Olives classes,u’ll Love them. Finding the right Pilates class was my priority when I began to search the Internet for Pilates classes in the athlone area. my first experience of pilates was 2 years ago, i had been recovering from a hip injury and really reaped the rewards of flexibility, strength, balance and body awareness. As a working mum like lots of other mammies life got in the way and my own schedule took a back seat. This year as part of my new years resolution i promised to re engage with my Pilates class and Have advanced to a more intermediate level. only 6 weeks in and again i feel the benefits. Olive's classes are motivating and challenging without being at all intense. She is extremely organised and each class is planned so that you do not feel the hour passing. You leave feeling like you have achieved something but also completely relaxed. The Ballinasloe classes are located very conveniently for anyone working in the hospital there. I attend a pilates class every tuesday with olive keyes and it has been really helpful to me with strengthened my core and helping to ease my back pain. I was sent to physiotherapy for years by my back doctors but the physiotgerapist always gave me exercises to do at home and I ended up doing them incorrectly. However, in this class Olive goes through each part of every exercise ensuring that your technique is perfect so you dont end up hurting yourself and this has been a big advantage for me. Hi everyone,Just wanted to write a quick review about Olive Keyes Pilates class . I enrolled for a 10 week class and i just finished week 6 this evening. I joined because i wouldn't have the strongest core and I carry some small back injuries from my job. These classes have defently strengthened my core and eased a lot of pain for me. I fell like my lower back is more free now. I thought Pilates was more for females but a 3rd of the class is men. Olive makes the class very easy to follow with her clear instruction and demonstration of all the moves. She really is a top instructor when it comes to Pilates.I would highly recommend going to this class. Dont worry what age or sex you are as there is modified versions if your older and harder versions if your younger and fitter person. I joined Olive's Pilates classes in January this year. Olive is a true professional and the classes have been so beneficial for me. It has increased my core strength and more importantly I feel more energetic. Olive ensures that as a beginner you learn each exercise patiently and correctly, thus benefiting more as you progress to intermediate/advanced classes etc. The benefits of Pilates are amazing but this can only be achieved with an excellent instructor like Olive. Was initially skeptical of the idea of pilates but was glad to be proven wrong. I was carrying a rugby-related hip injury when I first started with Olive but as a result of consistent focus on the abdominal and general core areas the strain subsided considerably from the hip and abductor region. Cannot recommend Olive enough. I have two central disc protrusions in my lower spine. I had been in complete agony for months and was taking pain killers every day. After my first session with Olive I had my first nights sleep in 3 months without medication and woke up completely pain free. I would recommend these classes highly as both structured and enjoyable. Olive clearly knows and understands her subject and is an excellent communicator and is very encouraging to all. I find that despite longstanding back pain from failed surgery her classes are manageable and have not aggravated the pain. I suspect that with time (I have only had five classes) the increased suppleness and strength ,particularly in the abdominal muscles, will reduce the discomfort. I intend to continue indefinitely. Olivia Keyes is a terrific pilates teacher. She is more like a friend trying to help you than a regular teacher and she very obviously loves her job. Having dipped in and out of pilates for years I was apprehensive starting again but needed to get back to some level of fitness after a long time away and various injuries. A good friend recommended Olive so I gingerly came to the first class not really knowing what to expect. Olives creates a friendly and encouraging atmosphere that means everyone feels they can do it. She starts very slowly from the beginning with care making sure everyone understands what their bodies are doing. In quite a short time I have moved on from tentative beginners to the more challenging intermediate class and love every minute. I have had hip and neck pain for years due to injury and it has improved so much with my core, upper body strength and confidence developing without even realising it! I started pilates as an absolute beginner and went with Olive as I seen on her website she has had a back injury so would know where I was coming from when I mentioned my back and hip issues. From the beginning everything was explained clearly and in a way that made you feel you could do it and do it correctly most importantly of all. I have always hated the idea of going to classes but not this time. I really feel that with time and practise my core muscles will improve and I will get stronger and more flexible.....even after a few classes I can already feel the difference!! Really enjoy going to olives classes she takes it at a pace that everyone can keep up with her classes are changed around every week and at the end she does a bit of relaxation which makes you feel so much better I really do feel it the next day in your core it also seems to be helping with pains I had in my shoulder would recommend her classes to anyone thinking about taking up pilates

I started going to Olives Classes a couple of months ago as i was consistently pulling muscles while playing GAA and my flexibility was very poor. Since i started my flexibility has improved greatly and i have been injury free since starting the classes. The classes really help you understand the muscles that you are using in your body and how you can be using them incorrectly. Olive is very good in checking that everyone in her classes is executing the exercises correctly and takes her time to explain how each exercise should be executed and doesn't rush through the class. Olive conducts the Pilates class in my company during lunch hours which is very convenient for me. Olive makes you feel comfortable when joining the class. Olive is an excellent teacher - she teaches her classes out of personal experience & shows a passion for sharing her Pilates knowledge. It is evident that Olive pays attention to each member of her class and is very keen to ensure that each member is doing the exercises safely and correctly. I joined Olive's class not knowing what to expect, I was made feel really welcome and enjoyed it from the very first class. Each week I can feel my core strength increase steadily which has help a back injury (bulging disc) improve dramatically. The classes allow you to progress in technique and after 6 weeks I moved to intermedinte level. Olive also has a lovely cool down relaxing period at the end of class which I find just brilliant for destressing. I would highly recommend olive's pilates classes. I have suffered for years with lower back pain resulting from a bulging disc. This worsened after having a baby, but only a few weeks after starting Olive's class, I began to notice improvements. As my core strength continues to increase, my back pain is now barely noticeable. Olive spends time initially working on establishing a clear understanding of the basics, and ensuring that everyone is doing the exercises correctly. She quickly progresses on from this though, giving a great work out while making it enjoyable and fun. Olive makes you feel very welcome and is a very enthusiastic teacher. Would highly recommend! I joined olives class last autumn nd had never done Pilates before and after the first class I really took to it....Olive treated each member of class with such attention in the beginning and made sure everyone was comfortable with exercises before she progressed on. I adore the pilates classes Olive does. Since starting I feel so much stronger in myself and every week find myself improving more and more. Olive is brilliant instructor, she explains everything so well and in detail. You always know what your excercise is going to do for you and what muscles you are trying to strengthen. My only complaint is that I cant do more classes, I do it 5days a week if I could. Love it and cannot recommend it enough! More...

I recently completed a six week beginners class with Olive. I have suffered from lower back pain for the last few years and was told Pilates would help so I signed up for Olives beginner class. Olive is an excellent instructor and her classes were very easy to follow, she gives a few levels for all exercises so everyone can take part whatever your skill level. Olive takes a keen interest in how all her clients are progressing and there is always an element of fun in her classes. Just finished a six week beginners class with olive. I've never done Pilates before so didn't really know what to expect. Olive spent a lot of time making sure everyone understood the basics in the first couple of classes and I found that really helped when she stepped up the pace in the following classes . She catered for all abilities and gave different level options for every exercise so everyone could take part. I really enjoyed the classes and could definitely feel it in the days after. I am attending Pilates with Olive in Ballinalsoe for post operative rehabilitation/abdominal Surgery/post hysterectomy In identify a suitable qualified instructor I was highly impressed with Olive. Her own journey with rehabilitation and experience helped me make my decision on instructor. On interview she was explorative regarding my needs and assessing my level. Olive paid particular attention to correct technique and injury prevention and after 6 weeks I personally have achieved core strength and improved my posture. Olive is very passionate regarding pilates and this is evident during her class and her follow up. Her tone during the meditation at the end is very soothing and really completes the class. Really enjoy Olive's Classes, I have been practicing Pilates with Olive for 8 months now and feeling the benefits. I have knee, back and sciatica issues. I joined Olive Keyes Pilates to help relieve back and sciatic pain that I'd had for a number of months. From the first phone call Olive was very impressive, she queried my reasons for joining her class and understood what I was looking for from the class. Her delivery of the class is excellent, she explains what the exercise aims to achieve, demonstrates everything, explains what you should be feeling, and as you progress challenges you to go beyond your comfort zone. I have loved her classes, I really feel that my core is strengthening, my back and leg isn't stiff and painful any more and I have regained the confidence now to try other activities too.
