We are 3 friends who met in college in 1970...we try to meet once a yr and travelling from Leitrim. Tipp and Louth ||Mullingar Park is ideal location. ... we have stayed numerous times and so enjoyed it each time....2nd Dec the last occasion....The welcome at reception....the gorgeous foyer full of festive colour...comfortable spotless rooms usually in requested area.Dinner in restaurant faultless .Breakfast had so many options.....We just love staying here and feel we get great value and service....looking forward to celebrating our 50th yr of friendship there next year..... What a great day had by all who attended my nephews Wedding. On arrival we were met by friendly staff and great music in the hotel bar. The whole day was excellent and the service was great. this is a big and old hotel and may need some need some updated decor but that's the only negative. rooms were nice and clean and quiet. also bedrooms were pleasantly cool, hotels are usually too hot. staff could not do enough for you, really helped our party out and gave us a room for an event we were having. food in the restaurant was unbelievably good, they obviously have a great chef. There were 11 of us and everyone loved their food, we were not rushed and we were the last to leave the restaurant. residents lounge and bar staff all great too - they had to deal with us for quite some time. From start to finish it was a perfect break. All the facilities were working and in very good condition. Staff very friendly, rooms were comfortable, toiletries were good quality. Everything you could wish for. The only 2 problems were that I ate too much (breakfast was to die for and properly cooked) and secondly there was no skimmed milk on display for the cereals, only full fat milk.Bar food finished at 9pm so no real chance of a sandwich or anything More...
