nice setting and feel, food is not worth the amount you actually pay for it though, was not wowed at all. service was not that spectacular as well, over all it is a nice place to hang out but i dont see whats the big deal about "BELUGA".

Celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary at Beluga, Waterfall. A dining experience we will never forget. Incredible food, outstanding service and exceptional 3 course meal and we were made to feel special on our anniversary. You will be seeing plenty more of us. More...

Absolutely has to be my favourite hangout in Jozi! The service and meticulous attention to detail is amazing. Most of the staff know me by name and know exactly how I like my Jam Jar Mojito, hahaha! Sharon is an awesome manager. Keep up the good work guys, will keep bringing more friends! More...

Fancy decor with a friendly manager. Beautiful outside area on a nice summer evening. But other than that very average and will not EVER go back. The food is bland and poorly put together. All dim sum tastes the same no matter which filling you have. Sushi was dry and tasteless with caviar so old it didn't even pop. After receiving the bill and finding out that my husband drink costed a GINORMOUS R100 for one vodka and coke this was enough to put me off FOREVER. Difficult bill to understand as no one explains to you that VAT is only added on at the end. So after being shocked and very begrudgingly paying our part of the bill we then had to put in another R300 just make sure that the waiter got a tip. I hate this place always feel like I've been ripped off when I leave, and in good faith I will not ever put another cent in the register. More...

Been there done that, won't be back. Can't believe everything I ordered was out of stock. Perhaps establishment should bring menus that reflect what is available as opposed to letting customers order and 5 minutes later the waiter comes back to in form you that it's out of stock. Specials I understand, but menu items? Chicken? Bitch please! More...

Good day Beluga. Please help me understand what value your hostesses wearing very short, extremely tight skirts brings to your brand and ultimately the customer experience. I note that the same "revealing" style of clothing was not opted for when looking into the male staff attire, hence my confusion. Please advise. Regards. More...

John the manager at waterfall has the most brilliant approach and knowledge of the menu , making any dish signature to your request . If I had a restaurant, I would love to have him run it. Petronella the waitress is the most courteous waitron I've ever come across. Pleasure to have supper here in waterfall . More...

I have never in my life received such bad service as I have At Beluga Waterfall park. Not only was it the owner that treated us with disrespect and rudeness, they were unable to have any form of customer service at all. I would recommend you spend your money elsewhere as this man is only interested in the profits of this business and nothing else. More...

Absolutely shocked at managements service here. Have been dining here for quite some time and always have a pleasant experience. Today, as usual, I requested a portion of the sushi called "more than a tuna crunch" but asked them to substitute the tuna with prawn, as they have done so every time I've dined here. (As well as the Sevruga in Durban). The manager comes to my table and tells me that she's going to have to charge me the full price of the dish instead of half price, when it's half price Sunday's, as they don't do the substitution any longer. Can someone please explain to me how that makes any sort of normal sense? I'm paying 136 for a prawn crunch, when the carins roll (prawn tempura) will be sold to me for half price if I had chosen to have that dish? (69)
Also, our table did not receive any bread today and service was generally poor. When we ordered dim sum, we also didn't receive the sauce that usually accompanies the dish.
So disappointed. Will definitely not be returning to Beluga Waterfall not recommending it to anyone!

Your management does not know how to treat customers, telling us that the place is under new management and they don't do this or that - talking down to clients like we are being lectured. That's not on. Perhaps they need some proper customer care training?? I have always loved beluga, but I will never return. More...

Our friends Marga and Dave took us to Beluga at Waterfall last night. We had the most wonderful and attentive service. Our waitress was professional and charming. We each had a starter and main. It is said we "eat with our eyes" . The food presentation was exquisite and set our taste buds alight with anticipation. We were not disappointed. 10/10 for a wonderful dining experience. More...

Worst service ever! Does not even deserve one star. A third of the table were served with food, the remainder waited a further 25 minutes and longer. One of the dishes, they could not prepare and two of the dishes were served without the sides. What a joke. We eventually called the manager. She took her sweet time and her response to the situation was - I was embarrassed to come over and decided to rather put pressure on kitchen staff. What a mess. Half of what is on the menu is not available... More...

Waited 30 minutes for one drink, did not have a waiter for most of my dinner (we were served by a runner), no bread at table, food quality has decreased drastically, portions are half the size and dim sum menu is pathetic (only 3 choices available out of the 15 on menu).
Managers not bothered to fix problems. Such a disappointment for a place that used to be a 10 out of 10!

So dark inside you cannot see a a thing. If you order a vodka and coke they give you Ciroc at R39 a shot with a coke in a Carafe for R22 (On the bill it strangely says Coke 340ml) , so R100 for a double vodka and coke. I wonder if you ordered a brandy and coke that they would serve you a Remy Martin or Hennesy. Or if you ordered a Scotch and soda they would think it perfectly ok to bring you a Johnny Blue. Having a read of the wine list is actually laughable: my particular favorite is Porcupine Ridge Sauv Blanc retailing for R35 (yes, that's the price the public pay at checkers, not the greatly reduced price restaurants pay) and they are selling it for R165-a mark up of 471%- perfectly reasonable! Efforts to attract customers with a more reasonably priced tasting menu are clearly a ruse to rape customers with drinks. Having a most average meal, no bottle of wine, and a couple of vodkas and coke , we left having paid R1000 . The Vat is only put on at the end, hence on a table of ten, it seems like someone has shorted the bill. All in all, an absolute RIP-OFF, and I will hence fourth tell as many people as I can to avoid your restaurant like the plague! You are exploiting members of the public, who are not as stupid as you think, and I very much look forward to the inevitable day when your restaurant closes. Shame on you! More...

I have been going to this Beluga since it opened. It started off a pleasant experience. I lived in Cape Town before, and was a regular at the Beluga there - so cannot help but compare. As time has gone on, Beluga Waterfalls standard has deteriorated! The last 3 weekends I have visited the restaurant - they have had 90% of my order out of stock. Today, only about 30% of the entire dim sum menu was actually on offer, the rest our of stock. They didn't have blood orange syrup for the smoothie I wanted, nor the dim sum sauce for the poor dim sum that they did have available, which was very oily when it arrived. When our sushi arrived, we had no wasabi. All in all. Shocking!!! You cannot run a successful franchise this way. You cannot have the stock levels you do, having more unavailable on your menu than actually available. More...

So so disappointed!!! After eating at Beluga once before we had the most amazing dim sum, sushi and steaks! Last night my hubby and I returned expecting the same food and what we were served was a disgrace! You guys aren't shy to charge a fortune but your food leaves a lot to be desired! After being told you had absolutely no dim sum in stock ( the reason we drove all the way from the east Rand for dinner) we decided to have tempura prawns and buffalo mozzarella. The prawns didn't even resemble a prawn shape?? The 'sweet chilli reduction' that I was supposed to get was a bowl of sweet chilli sauce squeezed out of a bottle! Absolutely shocking! Then our mains! Mine was supposed to be fillet? It was full of fat and sinew and honestly I've had better steak at spur! My husband ordered the boneless ribs which honestly looked like a minute steak cut into fingers to resemble ribs. We are bitterly disappointed! I don't know if there is new management or owners but sow thing has changed and sadly we will never return or recommend this restaurant again More...

Underwhelmed. Ordered a 2010 red only to be served a 2013. The query was met with a "oh yes we have this problem we need to update the menu's" Yet I was still charged for a 2010 bottle. Sad to know that management were aware of problem, and even sadder to know that customers are not valued enough to be made aware of this problem. Excitement for our starters was met with a dry disgust of duck dim sum and a very bland and unimpressive tempura prawn. Not wanting to risk further disappointment on main we opted for dessert. Which thankfully was not as disappointing as the rest More...

Not sure what happened to beluga waterfall or how it is still open? as they seem to be running the place into the ground this branch must be running at a loss. Food quality and freshness was the first thing to go, service used to be so good it was almost annoying now when you call you lucky if anyone answers the phone.

Wake up the place it'nt going to fix it's self

I must be honest that every time I have been back to Beluga, the food has deteriorated and staff not really available even though there seem to be so many hanging around. Today, came for sushi, the sticky rice was sticking to our teeth and gums - way to much rice on the nigiri - I don't believe the tuna nor the salmon was absolutely fresh either! Very disappointed And will find it difficult to get ourselves back there again. What has happened? More...
