Whats important is that your photos connect with the client. Most clients who book me don't actually like being in front of a camera, and when a client is nervous it can show in a photo, usually by way of a fake smile (like they are expecting me to say 'Say Cheese!') so as a photographer, its also my job to make clients comfortable. I usually do this by trying to make a photo shoot fun, getting clients to laugh and joke a bit, and getting that natural smile, for a natural looking photo. I often find that candid shots (where the client is not looking at the camera, and just being natural) are the best shots.

It really depends on the type of photo shoot. For example, if it is a family shoot, I will always try to find out how many people I will be photographing and their age-range, whether they want to do the shoot in my studio or at their home (or other location they like).

I get to meet many different people from all walks of life. Photography to me is more a passion than a job or business. The more I shoot the more I love it and always strive to be better and better. Quite often, the bast part of the job is delivering photo to clients by hand, and seeing their faces light up as they look through their photo, some even getting very emotional.
