Highly recommend Dog Genius. My 1.5 year old golden retriever just completed 4 weeks of board and train at the facility, and we couldn't be happier and more impressed with the results. Alajandro spent hours with us today when we picked her up to "train" us on what to do for continued success when we get home. Chris also spent time with us showing what Jovi knows and has accomplished. Both men are amazing with the dogs and knowledgeable in their craft. When I first went there, Chris spent half an hour with me explaining every aspect of what happens while at board and train and made me feel comfortable with leaving my dog with them. During the 4 weeks, she was taken to real life situations at stores and parks, received daily 1 on 1 training, group play, exercise and quiet time. Multiple pictures were sent daily to show what is being trained and how happy she was there. All questions were answered and all issues of training i had were addressed. The continued support after is also a comfort if questions arise, and the option to send her for day training or daycare is amazing. The facility is clean and large. The kennels are large and temperature controlled to allow maximum comfort for the dogs. I would not hesitate to send my dog there again. More...

Your dog will love it!!We initially hired Chris to do individual training with our then 3 month old golden doodle Georgie. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with our exuberant pup, and working with Chris completely put my mind at ease. He truly is a dog genius! Georgie would do anything for Chris, and we learned so much.We were then thrilled to learn that Dog Genius had opened a facility around the corner from where we live. Georgie goes there for a half day every Friday morning and he loves it! I have complete confidence that he is cared for, structured and having a great time. Unfortunately, at that time my husband and I both fell ill so we enlisted Dog genius and Chris to help us train Indy. Indy did the board and state program as well as day school over the last two years. Indie has developed so many skills as well as being able to control his impulses. We had a wonderful experience with Dog Genius and highly recommend their training program. Our German Shepherd puppy stayed for three weeks in the boarding and training program, and we were extremely impressed with the results. Chris, the owner, was fantastic to work with. We were updated daily with photos and if we had any questions, he was always happy to chat on the phone. He took the time to explain things clearly and made us feel confident that our GSD puppy was in great hands. As a young family with a second baby on the way, we had specific training goals—especially around obedience, recall, and eliminating nipping. We’re happy to say all of these goals were achieved, and it’s been great to see how calm and neutral our puppy remains even when our son is energetically running around the house.Another concern we had was our home’s many stairs, but thanks to the agility work our GSD puppy practiced during his stay, he came home confident and able to navigate them with no problem. One of the highlights of the program was the time Chris spent with us at the end of the training. He dedicated over two hours to walking us through everything our puppy had learned and ensuring we felt comfortable continuing the training at home. We are happy with the progress our puppy has made and we look forward to continuing to work with Chris and his team as our dog goes through the puppy stages and beyond.UPDATE: Our GSD puppy Forest is now 5 months old. We continue to bring him in once or twice a week for day school which has been helping to retain all the neutrality and obedience work done by Chris and his team. Forest loves coming to Dog Genius and doesn't even want to leave 😅. The environment created by Chris and his team allows for structured and safe play in a clean and trusting environment, while allowing our boy Forest to socialize and have fun.Special shoutout to Alejandro, one of the dog trainers. He has been very helpful as we continue to improve the “heel” walk with our growing (now at a hefty 50 pounds) boy. Thank you Dog genius you guys are the best! More...

Dog Genius & Alejandro — 5 stars from Heidi’s family★★★★★I can’t say enough good things about Dog Genius, owner Chris, and the rest of the team who worked quietly behind the scenes. We must give a shout out especially to our trainer, Alejandro. We sent our dog Heidi for their 4-week board and train program and the transformation has been incredible. Before Dog GeniusHeidi was a very nervous, reactive dog. She barked and growled constantly, had no socialization, lunged at strangers, and was scared of just about everyone around her.The training experienceChris and Alejandro took real time to understand Heidi’s character and tailored everything to what she needed. Alejandro’s patience and consistency were obvious in every update. He also made sure we understood the “why” behind each exercise so we could keep it up at home. Results after 4 weeksBy our final session, the change in Heidi was night and day:Walks on leash without pullingSits quietly or lies down when we stop to talkPotty training issues resolved — she now goes outside confidently, which had become a problem because of fearObedient to commands and more focusedEven lost some weight thanks to the structured physical routine and treadmill workThe biggest moment for us was getting photos of Heidi taking treats from the trainer, enjoying pets and belly rubs, and rolling on her back during play time, completely relaxed. That was the Heidi we’d never seen before. Why I trust Dog GeniusThe facility is professional, clean, and you can tell the whole team genuinely cares about the dogs and their people. When Heidi got sick from stress — which my vet said is common during board and trains — the team contacted me right away. They recommended a vet check, alleviated my fears about returning her to training, and kept me updated after hours. I got reassuring texts with pictures and videos showing she was doing much better. If you’re looking for training in Mississauga, don’t hesitate. Ask for Alejandro. He went the extra mile to make sure I felt relieved and secure about Heidi’s care. We’re so grateful for the confidence they’ve given both Heidi and us. I see a lot more outings in our future together. More...

Dog Genius is an absolute godsend. I found them when my dog Kona was 8 months old, and anyone who’s raised a puppy knows how badly you need a break every now and then when they hit adolescence. I had tried a dog sitter but Kona was anxious and didn’t settle and I had to pick him up a couple hours after dropping him off. I felt so overwhelmed in that moment, but then I found Dog Genius who truly changed the game for me. Kona’s first visit back in June 2025 was his 3 hour assessment to see how he fared in the space and he LOVED it. We’ve gone back to day care 21 times since then and Kona practically jumps out of the car when we pull into the lot. Chris and Doina are fantastic and really know what they are doing. I appreciate their experience so much as I have an easily overstimulated dog. The facility is extremely clean and offers several different areas/activities to keep dogs happy and fulfilled (slatmills and treadmills, agility courses, outdoor enclosure, quiet spaces etc). Booking is incredibly easy through an app and staff keeps you up to date on your dog’s visit by uploading photos throughout their stay. I love their different options for length of stay and structure of care. If you’re in Mississauga and looking for dog care options, I HIGHLY recommend Dog Genius. We’ve been bringing our 7-month-old puppy, Junie, to Dog Genius for about a month now, and it has been such a positive experience for both her and us. She attends their day school program about twice a week, and it’s quickly become one of the highlights of her routine. When she first started, she was a little shy and unsure, but the team was incredibly patient and supportive in helping her come out of her shell. Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen such a big change in her confidence, she’s warmed up so much and has made some new paw friends! One of our absolute favourite parts is that they post photos and updates throughout the day. As puppy parents, it’s so reassuring (and honestly just so fun) to see what she’s up to and watch her playing and learning. It gives us real peace of mind knowing she’s in a safe, structured, and caring environment. We’re also planning to enroll Junie in their two-week board and train program soon. It definitely takes a lot to trust a facility enough to leave your little one with them for that length of time, but Dog Genius has earned that trust. The staff have been professional, communicative, and genuinely caring every step of the way.If they ever expand, we would love to see some weekend availability added in the future, that would be the icing on the cake! Overall, we highly recommend Dog Genius to anyone looking for a supportive, engaging, and trustworthy place for their pup. More...

Wonderful and clean facility! I love how they focus on the training aspect for all the dogs. Norris always comes out happy and tired after being in daycare ☺️🙏His confidence definitely increased since he started attending Dog Genius ♥️They also send photos which I appreciate so much! I just wish it was more consistent and I know how much to expect a day, sometimes there’s only 1 photo in a 8-hour day and sometimes there’s 3-4 photos a day. The days where I get 3-4 photos are such a great update and I always look forward to those!!The photos helped us so much since we transitioned from previous daycare videos that we can always access. I love that it’s similar to daycare reports for parents that they get photos of their child, but for pet parents. 🥹I find the photos are more meaningful and you actually see what they’re working on ♥️Thank you Dog Genius team for always making sure he has a fun day!! 🙏Edit: recent updates haven’t been that great in terms of photos especially since the daycare pricing is already so high. I’m not sure what he’s doing half the time most the pictures i’ve been getting are him in quiet zone and not even engaging in the obstacle course. -1 star. More...

Highly recommend Dog Genius! They took care of Riley while my husband and I went away for a two-week Christmas holiday.Being a first time fur mom, I was definitely anxious about leaving Riley for that long, especially given his nature. Riley has a separation anxiety and has a history of getting bit by another dog at another daycare when he was only eight months old. However, my anxious heart was put to rest after seeing all the photo updates from them.My husband and I were most impressed after seeing them take Riley to a commercial establishment and still managed to rein in his focus on them! Riley is such a reactive dog and a big puller so for them to be able to do that was nothing short of amazing!Truth be told, we already signed up with another dog training facility before we met them and paid a hefty deposit. However, someone recommended them in the Burlington Together FB group which I am a part of so we decided to check out their website. Seeing how nice their facility was on pictures, we decided to pay them a visit. Their facility was clean and well organized because it’s divided into different sections: for exercise, play, training and quiet times. I think they also have one of the best, if not the best kennel, I’ve seen so far!For me, comfort and cleanliness are of utmost importance. Hence, we decided to forfeit our deposit at the other dog training facility and signed up with Dog Genius immediately after our first visit. Best decision ever. When we came to pick Riley up after the two-week period, I was blown away by how thorough Chris was. What I thought was a quick pick up turned out to be a relatively long orientation for my husband and I! You can tell Chris is very passionate about dogs and he genuinely cares about his clients! I can’t thank them enough for the wonderful work they’ve done with Riley.Riley seems to be more regulated now, respectful of boundaries and most importantly, very obedient! Sometimes I wonder if he’s still the same dog we left two weeks prior!Thank you, Chris, Doina and Alejandro for taking good care of Riley during our absence! If there’s only one area for improvement I may suggest, it would be great if they could install a camera that fur parents could access anytime. This will save them time from having to upload pictures constantly. More...

**I’d like to share my experience. My cousin’s dog never liked me—every time I visited, he would bark, and once he even jumped on me and scratched my stomach. Because of this behavior, my cousin decided to send him for professional training. After two weeks, I went with him to visit the dog and see if he was still aggressive. When the dog first saw me, he started barking, but the trainer quickly took control and asked me to sit with the dog in the room. After two minutes, I gave him a treat. A couple of minutes later, I gave him another treat and gently petted him.The third time, we repeated the same steps—and to my surprise, the dog calmly sat next to me in a friendly way. I was truly shocked. I told the trainer, “You turned him from a lion into a cat—this is a miracle!”Amazing work. Highly recommended if you want to turn your dog into a cat 😁👌❤️** More...
