I've waited about a week to write this review, so that I could really compile my feelings.|I know this is rated a 4 star luxury hotel, but I would not rate it as luxury in any way shape or form. |I was super disappointed in just about every aspect---especially since it is "luxury".|Check in was fine, nothing memorable. That was the one and only time I had any interaction with staff. And there is where it begins. After five days, there was not one single time I was greeted or welcomed by staff. No hello, good morning, nothing. |There was no bag help, or even offer of help. This is not usual for me, usually, at luxury hotels, there is at least a greeting from the desk/concierge, considering we passed by them EVERY single time we entered or exited the hotel.||I specifically booked in the historic part of the hotel, upon check in we were "upgraded" to the tower...with a balcony. This was cool, I like being able to sit on the balcony and enjoy morning coffee or a evening cocktail. Wow, wow, wow.....so disappointed. The balcony is garbage. It is a deck with pavers, no furniture, nothing to sit on. And it was filthy. Weeds growing in the pavers, steps worn...just yuck. Well that was a useless "upgrade"||Kitchenette-there is plates and glasses, but if they are used, there is no way to clean them. No soap, or detergent for the dishwasher. No sponge or dischcloth...again kinda useless. And housekeeping provided no new glasses (thought the dirties were in the sink).||The towels in the bathroom were kinda yucky. "White" towels that were stained or dingy..very evident when placed on well cleaned/super white towels.|The carpet was very, very dirty.||The room is worn, shabby and needs a good cleaning. ||The location is exceptional, easy to walk everywhere. Thats the best I can say.||I wish I had stayed at the Omni where I have always received exceptional service.||In my opinion this is not a luxury hotel-I did not receive the service I typically receive with a luxury/4 star hotel. |For you maybe this is what is expected, and will be great for you. Our room was more of a suite than a standard room which was a pleasant surprise to us as we had plenty of space for our belongings and clothes, etc. We didn't have an "outside" view which meant we didn't get any natural lighting so if that's a big issue for you then I'd speak to the hotel about this beforehand.|There's a small kitchen in the room which also had suitable utensils and this was useful to have as we found ourselves taking leftovers home to reheat the next day, which is something we can't always do in standard hotel rooms.|The pool and sauna space was clean and welcoming.|The public areas are lovely too - nice bar area. The way the building has historic elements that are included in the public areas was really cool and we liked seeing and hearing about the old vault. Direct access to the PATH was super handy too. I stayed at 1 King West last weekend and had a fantastic experience. The location is absolutely perfect—right in the heart of downtown Toronto, with everything just a short walk away. Our room had an amazing lake view that made the stay even more memorable.||It was so convenient to walk to the ferry dock and take a trip to the Toronto Islands. We also explored the vibrant downtown core—there’s so much energy, especially in the summer! A frequent guest over the years, especially before COVID, I was looking forward to my stay--especially the ability to cook my own meals in the kitchen. ||Alas, it seems as if the usually excellent culinary standards are slipping. The lack of a cutting board made the chopping chores, literally, a strange en “counter”; the lack of dish towels meant double duty for the washroom kit; even with the small fridge set to “3” (who would think of looking ahead of time?) my Perrier and half-and-half cream were largely frozen the next morning (“1” seemed to keep things just cool enough).||I always enjoy the proper office chair and desk with multiple plugs--being a writer, I spend more time in my room than most. Yet the textured rug meant easily swiveling/moving my four-wheeled seat, too often ground to halt. (At home I have a large sheet of plastic , which permits smooth transitions no matter which angle is required.)||Here’s hoping my next visit will be devoid of these little nuisances. But it also must be said that hotel staff were efficient and friendly as they corrected of these deficiencies--except for the “throne”, which requires a different sort of “fix”. More...

I had a lovely stay in One King West in Toronto and would recommend it to tourists visiting the city for a short break. The downtown location is amazing and is it walking distance from attractions such as the CN Tower, ferry terminal to Toronto Island and the St Lawrence Market. The room itself was clean, spacious and had stunning views of the Toronto skyline. The staff are friendly and check-in and out went seamlessly. The hotel lobby is beautiful and a great place for evening drinks. The hotel also has a gym and sauna.It is important to note that the kitchin facilities are limited and not suitable if you are looking to cook during your stay. The room lacked basic cooking equipment (washing-up liquid, sponges, chopping board, utensils etc).Thank you for a lovely stay! This hotel and it's management is incredibly vile. And that's an understatement.My friend died here in a freak accident during my stay and the room was deemed a crime scene by TPS. Due to this, the hotel charged me an extra night's stay and told me "it's just business".I wouldn't touch this place with a ten foot pole. The rooms were clean and serviced daily, though some of the furniture—particularly in the suite's pantry—was noticeably worn and could use updating. That said, the service from all hotel staff was excellent: attentive, professional, and genuinely guest-focused, with no hidden charges.The location was ideal for my business trip—very central, easy for Uber pickups, and conveniently close to public transportation (though I didn’t use it). I cannot praise the staff here enough. I lost a Tiffany necklace at the bar and went back the next day to look for it. Rachel at the front desk was AMAZING taking all of our details and a description, coordinated with security and by some miracle, one and a half days later, called to tell me they had found the necklace. We stayed in Suite 1021 which has a kitchenette. What it doesn't have is an external window!|Overall, good but there were a few areas to improve. ||Good: Soft towels, friendly and polite staff, bar staff very nice, comfortable bed and pillows, good tea/coffee making facilities that were replenished daily. Housekeeping overall good, but we did have to leave a note for replacement loo paper (which had run out the day before and we had to use tissues). Good downtown location, good shower.||Bad: Not the hotels fault but one evening other guests/residents were very noisy when returning to their rooms late at night. We weren't impressed with the Daily Ritual cafe who got our order wrong and was extremely busy with just 2 people serving. When we checked in we found our wardrobe rail had fallen to the bottom and the black tape showed it had previously been fixed. The issue is that it leans. We were able to fix but not what you would expect for the price we paid! Our room had no window, and the lighting was poor. The room was very dim and we would have expected better lighting given there was no natural light. The refrigerator froze my insulin. It has been left turned up to 7. Luckily, not all of my insulin was frozen and always bring extra. I reported the issue (not that the hotel could do anything about the insulin) but the receptionist, Ethan, whilst being apologetic didn't quite seem to grasps the potential consequences! More...

Our stay at One King West was exceptional from start to finish. The location in downtown Toronto is perfect — most major attractions are within easy walking distance, and the connection to the PATH system is excellent. The room during our first stay was extraordinary: spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. We had already booked our second stay together with the first, and the suite we were assigned on our return was absolutely outstanding. Fantastic; I highly recommend this Hotel if you can afford it. The room and its bathroom in the Tower were clean and spacious eye-candy. Each and every Staff we encountered displayed top-notch service. We called downstairs to request extra blankets, which were delivered promptly.
