My husband and I left our home in Los Angeles, California and came into Perth with so many stresses & moving parts, not to mention shipping our entire 3-bdr condo overseas while pregnant with our first child.
we were desperately looking for a new space to make our home, and upon our first meeting with Kate, my husband and I were immediately comforted with her overwhelming level of experience and care for our specific needs as a growing family and a young creative couple. Kate and her team communicated with us frequently and candidly as we followed her design and our own intuition about what we thought we wanted and what we would soon need as this would be our baby’s first home. Despite the delays and setbacks with covid-19, kate made sure we were looked after as best she could.
With visits to the furniture warehouse, to private introductions from previous and current clients, we cut and pasted our entire living space with ease. And we are still loving the choices. We’ve even referred her out to local friends already. We love them.

Kate and the team at Moda achieved a stunning outcome for us. We always thought that our home of 20 years was wonderful and the location was ideal.
Nevertheless, we really wanted to get more light into our living areas so we decided to go ahead with a thorough renovation and then "love it or list it".
We definitely "love it!!" and envisage staying very happily in our family home for another 20 years or more.
Kate really listened to what we wanted (and to our ideas), but then made suggestions that took the end result beyond our expectations. We are thrilled with the transformation of our home.
There was meticulous attention to detail from the initial design to finishing selections, furniture advice and small decorative touches. On the day we moved back into the house, Kate and her team were there and stayed until they were satisfied that the final result was amazing. To say they went above and beyond doesn't begin to describe the effort they went to.
The relationship that Kate had with the builder meant that the entire experience was as smooth as it could be. Everything was well organised with the intention of providing us with a great experience.
Whether building or renovating, Kate is the first person we would call. Everyone at Moda made us feel like the only thing that mattered to them was delivering a stunning result for us - and that is exactly what they achieved.

What’s your interior design process?
Our process at Moda is highly consultative, and unique to the individual needs of every client and project. Our initial consultation with clients is all about who they are, what they want out of the space they are creating, and how they can best engage with Moda to achieve this.
Here are the services we offer at Moda:
CONSTRUCTION
When building a new home, we assist you with complete selections and specifications for the interior and exterior alike. We also undertake space planning of all fixtures, fittings and finishes, including all cabinetry design. This enables the formulation of the look and the budget prior to commencing construction.
POST CONSTRUCTION
This is where we turn the house into a home after construction. We assist you with the furnishing and fit out of items such as window treatments, furniture, soft furnishings, decorative items, artwork, rugs and lamps.
RENOVATION
Clients engage our services when the form and function of their existing home needs improving. They are either replacing old for new, adding space, improving storage or mainly improving functionality of spaces and modernising their home with a much needed face lift.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
This is where we oversee the project on behalf of the client in their absence. The client may live overseas, or for local clients who are time poor or do not possess enough knowledge of the industry to monitor the project themselves.
HOMEWARES & ARTWORK
We provide expertise in selecting decorative items that are usually the final finishing touch in the post construction phase. This service assists us in personalising the homes so that they reflect the personality of the client.
COMPLETE CONCIERGE SERVICE
This includes all of the above services, with the addition of relocation support for our clients living interstate or overseas during an active project.

What inspired you to start your own business?
I founded Moda Interiors in 2006 to provide clients with quality service, design expertise and a trusted design team to deliver projects that far exceeded expectations. Over the last decade and a half, Moda has been defined by the integrity, creativity and cohesiveness of staff under my trust and guidance.
With over 20 years industry experience in international design and project management, the team is focussed on excellence in design, management and communication, and has worked with clients across Australia, Asia and Europe.
I lead a team of talented, enthusiastic and energetic interior designers that have a strong commitment to creating timeless, award winning work, alongside fostering close relationships with clients that enables them to create pieces of art - not just projects - that truly reflect the visions of the owners personally and professionally .
I continue to oversee every aspect of the design process, but truly enjoy the opportunity to cross-pollinate experiences, inspirations and ideas in each of our jobs.
From collaborations with top international brands like Miele and Auto Classic BMW, we are proud of the unique network we have built- and continue to grow - that enables us to create excellence in design.
Entering it's 16th year, Moda Interiors - much like all businesses - have faced trials and tribulations, particularly those brought on by the global pandemic, but have proudly, with resilience, innovation and deep connection to our work, continued to create life-changing transformations for our clients in their living and working spaces.
In 2020, Moda was honored to be listed in Design Et Al’s annual publication of The Worlds’ Leading Design Names 2020, and shortlisted for two categories in The International Design & Architecture Awards 2020.

We work with many clients on regional, interstate and international projects, thanks to the help of regular, virtual communication; the structure of our processes; and the commitment by our team to make it a positive experience for you, regardless of the mundane barriers. We also cater to clients who engage our services for local projects, but who may be travelling during the project's duration.
