Solar Panel Installation
DNC sales guy straight up lied to our faces and we trusted his smiling face like fools. The system he sold us was woefully inadequate for our needs and the first thing he did when we complained was try to quote us for an extra battery with the extra cost that would entail.
We struggled for the first month to get any real answers from DNC and Glint and in the end the answer was "we don't care". The sales guy came in and eyeballed our home and made a (bad) guess.
He also claimed they would pay back anything we paid eskom above the threshold of his estimate. This turned out to be a bald faced lie. He claimed he never said it despite him claiming this multiple times. We thought we were buying into a can't lose system. Instead we bought something where we would lose *all* battery power by midnight (with all non-essential power turned off and the monthly rent + eskom suppliment means we'd still pay as much or even more than before.
Throughout the process salesman claimed they practiced "WEE" (instead of BEE) assuming we were racists. He was hammering this home until I shut him down and he realised he was talking himself out of a sale. This is one statement I'm glad was a complete lie. The black workers he brought in turned out to be the most competant of the workers there. The white guys he brought in gave off the vibe of homeless recovering alcoholics. Despite this the actual installation was quick and the panels + batteries were put in very professionally. However, it did take us days to secure the certificate of compliance.
The batteries and inverter they installed were from a Chinese reseller (skyworth) who sells rebranded white label products. If you plan to monitor consumption via products like home assistant or anything similar just forget it there is no way (they will claim you can).
From this you can guess that I would not recommend them. Get your house independently assessed for your individual power needs first, don't believe a word the salesman tells you.
