Therapist

Yi Shan was an incredible help to my mental health. She is very clear on her session goals and outlines the journey she wishes to take with you. Her in-depth knowledge of neuroscience helped me understand why I was feeling or behaving in certain situations. Her gentle approach to tackling issues made it a safe space for me to open up and be honest with myself. It wouldn't hurt to add that her charismatic and humorous nature takes off the pressure of opening up. I came in with the intention of sharing all my problems and hoping to find a solution to everything that was bothering me. However, she carefully extracts powerful experiences and teaches me meaningful skills and lessons that I can apply across different aspects of my life. Met yi shan for the first time. She is so welcoming and warming. Listened to my stories and gave me a list of practical yet actionable advices. She was extremely clear with her analysis and spoke in a way relatable to me and ensured I understood her sharing. I’m so glad I met her this evening. Yi Shan was recommended to me by my usual therapist and I was really looking forward to starting my sessions. I was easily triggered by things in life due to difficult periods in my life and felt that it really hindered me. Yi Shan's work comprises of many exercises we can do from day to day anywhere we are. I have benefitted a lot from regulating my nervous system with her sessions. I noticed how I reacted or rather, responded to stress differently after just a few sessions. I made better cognitive decisions because I was more emotionally regulated. Therapist

Yi Shan has changed my initial impression of Therapy. Her approach to tailor to my interest in science has helped me better understand what I was going through. This helped me to start the healing process and to also understand that I had a part to play in my own recovery.

Yi Shan also has given me a few exercises that have helped in reducing my stress. Specifically in my case, I felt that she has already went above and beyond with an issue that I was facing and I cannot thank her enough for her help.

First time starting a therapy and I am glad I did it with yi shan. She is dedicated to her profession and adopt both humanistic and scientific approach during her sessions. Apart from using neuroscience to help you understand yourself better, she also teaches you ways to help cope and improve your overall mental well being. I saw Yi Shan for my very first experience with therapy, with the only connotation of what therapy is like coming from what I've seen on TV. However, Yi Shan's approach is nothing like. She values transparency, open communication and prioritizes your comfort level and wellbeing, ensuring you are ready before getting you to share any traumatic experiences. Her methodology revolves around helping you understand biological reactions towards stress, giving you a heightened awareness around your emotions, and thus better control of them. Yi Shan is a great, no BS counsellor. She used the intro session to make sure I understood what I’m getting and helped me to understand the framework she’ll be using to approach our sessions.

She is warm, friendly, doesn’t judge and more importantly, her demeanour really puts me at ease which helped me in openly sharing.

Subsequent sessions were also very helpful in giving me perspective and actionable steps in what I needed help with.

It’s my first time engaging a counsellor and I’m glad it’s her.

Shan is an excellent counsellor, she helped me get back on my feet when I was one of the lowest points in my life.

She is empathetic and uses different frameworks to help you make sense of situations. She takes her time and really puts in effort to work on deep rooted issues. Coming from a couple of counsellors, I have not seen someone put in the dedication to help me get through as much as her.

I have been seeing Yi Shan for some individual and couple sessions. She has helped us as individuals and as a couple tremendously by diffusing conflicts in our marriage, mapping out our emotions so clearly and helping us to understand why we feel the way we feel, as individuals and as a married couple (with kid). Through understanding these dynamics we were able to isolate and work on our areas of concern. During sessions, it is evident that she is an expert at what she does; I/we feel unjudged and heard, and at peace usually by the end of each session. Yi Shan has been an absolute gem in my healing process. Her approach to therapy is the perfect blend of holistic care and structured guidance.

I won’t lie and say that I was comfortable at the start, but Yi Shan exuded a calming energy that makes you feel comfortable opening up. She was really attentive in listening to my experiences on a deep level without any judgement.
