Initially, I had many therapists from Bark reaching out to me, but I decided to go with Yishan. We first had a vibe check call, and during that conversation, she made me feel completely at ease.
She listened without judgment, understood my worries, and never pushed for a sale. It was clear from the start that she prioritised my well-being over anything else, and that’s when I knew she truly had my best interests at heart.
Since then, I’ve had such a transformative experience working with her. Yishan is incredibly knowledgeable and intuitive—able to assess what I truly need in the moment. Initially, we planned to do MEMI, but she recognised that I wasn’t quite ready and instead introduced alternative techniques that were more suitable for me at the time.
One of the most effective tools she taught me was the brain switch technique, which helped me visualise and shift out of negative states. I applied it during a particularly important session and was able to carry myself with clarity and confidence.
Yishan is also deeply patient and empathetic. She takes the time to really listen, and even when sessions run over, she never rushes the process. - My communication skills have improved a lot, and I no longer go into fight or flight mode when I get uncomfortable / during conflicts. I certainly believe that getting therapy with the right person will leave a long lasting, positive impact on your life.
- Most importantly, she made me feel a lot better. She taught me that even though I made mistakes, I am capable of change. Yi Shan is a very sincere and meticulous Therapist. Her methods of using a scale to assess the level of trauma before and after each session is useful to help the client translate intangible emotions into a tangible scale so that we can monitor our progress.
The MEMI sessions were fabulous and especially helpful. After each session, I would feel a headache and be very tired. But as I get enough rest, i will heal and emerge stronger. Within 3 sessions, I was able to heal my childhood and early adulthood trauma and return the level of trauma to a safety zone. Gradually, my reliance on psychiatric medication also reduced. I would recommend Yi Shan to anyone who has a genuine and open attitude towards getting their trauma healed.

My experience:
It is extremely different from what you'd expect a therapy session to be. Comes off very spiritual but she uses the term metaphysical.
It's basically manifesting and detaching yourself from your trauma to allow yourself to heal without the burden pulling you down.
But it doesn't solve anything. Your issues will still be there, nothing she does will directly help you figure out logically how to move forward...the answers/clarity you get are internal and it'll be loudest during and after this session.
You might feel awkward or weirded out during the session but if you really want to just feel better and in a more controlled yet peaceful state with yourself, your body and soul, then she will help a lot.
After a session with her, i genuinely feel better...a lot more calm and grateful and in control of my reactions and actions. But, again, my issues are still there, they still linger and crave to be resolved. The difference is that I can do things I need to do without feeling too drained and like as if I am being held at a chokehold where I really wouldn't have any energy because I would be thinking about my problems 24/7.
100/100% worth it and it is an entirely new experience in itself. Don't come expecting to talk about your issues. Just know that you will feel lighter, more confident, and just overall better by the end of her session.
She is an extremely sweet person herself.

It gives me great joy and privilege to support my clients as they learn to reconnect deeply and meaningfully with themselves and their loved ones. There is no greater blessing than watching them develop the self-awareness, self-control and concrete skills that transforms them into the “main character” of their lives.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having the creative flexibility and clinical freedom to fine-tune my therapeutic approach basis current neuroscientific research. Seeing the postive clinical outcomes of clients as they transform from a “surviving” to a “thriving” state.
