Absolutely terrible company to deal with. Paid a deposit in June, didnt start until September. When they began, they stripped the bathroom and removed the toilet and then left for nearly 2 weeks leaving no bathroom in the house to use. Work began in September. They didn't finish for over a month and when they did, they didn't slope the tiles in the wet room floor, therefore when the shower was used, the water ran out of the room, into the landing and through the ceiling. They don't answer the phone (the phone belonging to the office is disconnected and the mobile associated is rarely answered). When it is, promises are made, but rarely delivered. Does anyone else notice that most of the positive reviews have similar language? Many of them say "couldn't be happier". As a previous staff member, I can vouch that, while some of the positive reviews are indeed legitimate, the majority of them have been specifically requested by the company and language was suggested. It's common practice for the owner to asked friends, family, acquaintances, etc. to leave positive reviews. How do I know this? I was also asked if I would post a review and if I had any friends who would also post a review. And this language was suggested to be used. Needless to add, neither did I post a review nor request any friends to. This company has been thoroughly mismanaged and funds have been misappropriated for the past 2-3 years. It's no surprise that all staff members have had no choice but to leave - even with no alternative employment in place. Several staff left the company having been owed substantial amounts in wages, expenses, commissions. Many customers have been left disappointed with unfinished (or even unstarted) projects after having handed over anything from 50% to 90% of their quoted prices. Stay away from this company at all costs!!! They left my parents’ bathroom unfinished for months and completely ignored repeated calls and messages. The lack of communication and professionalism was appalling. In the end, my parents had to ask them to leave so the job could be completed by someone else. What work they did manage to finish was substandard — the underfloor heating they installed has already stopped working. After reading other reviews, it’s clear this isn’t an isolated case but a pattern of taking money, delivering poor work, and abandoning projects. I can't even begin to tell you the stress this Horrific company caused! I could write a book about this incompetent excuse of a company! We travelled to Trim to meet the designer! Absolute Nightmare! This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company. Nearly 3 months on from my start date and I still don't have a completed bathroom. This is my second review to upload as I was asked by the owner to take down the first one with a promise of completion by Sept 7th and waiver of 10%. The door to the bathroom remains locked as I cant even look at it. Its now going to cost another small fortune to complete and get missing products. Grouting needs to be redone at a minimum, damage done to the bath as wasnt covered during works, no bath panel, the list is endless. A complete waste of a lot of money. I havent had full use of my driveway for nearly 3 months now due to a skipbag of rubbish sitting on it. I have asked countless times for this to be removed and its still sitting there. Extremely disappointed with this company. Stay away, very unprofessional! Our €15,000 bathroom project was left unfinished after more than two months of delays, false promises, and very poor communication. See by yourself some pictures of the state of my bathroom after more than 2 months! Our project started with Tomulescu on the 3rd of June! Despite giving the team a clear deadline of the 20th of August (as we had guests arriving), the project remained unfinished. On the afternoon of the 19th, we received a message claiming a plasterer would attend at 3:30pm — far too late to complete the extensive work that still remained. Despite being more than flexible and giving them multiple chances to put things right, we were repeatedly lied to and let down. Calls and emails were ignored, deadlines missed, and we eventually had to hire another contractor and pay extra costs ourselves. (Clearing site and skip removal) I asked them for a partial refund for all the mess and work not being completed, Even though €2,500 was still outstanding on completion. the company claimed we actually “owed” them more money if we were to get a refund — completely unacceptable. Never never use these people Most reviews are from family members They have multiple companies, trading with different business names , When I asked for their company registration number , they gave me tax reference number for a different business that is sole trader ( self employed) that hasn’t traded since 2024 and had made no income and no tax returns filed , when I questioned why they have different companies trading with different names they blocked me , when I asked for their company registration number they gave me a completely different company name . Directors of this company are also directors of other companies which they haven’t declared to the company registration office or declared income from the different companies!! They don’t have enough cash flow to cover any expenses if your items were damaged, I was asked for over €5,000 deposit even before I had chosen my bathroom design! Always do your research before paying any money , especially when their social media looks great & promising . It’s not always what it seems , I’m so glad I did research before I was scammed out of nearly €10,000 for bathroom I’ve found different contractor that has come to house to view bathroom, has even give bathroom brochures and only requires 15% deposit not 50% . We had one of our bathrooms renovated with the team from Tomelescu in September 2024. We had initial contact by phone and email and an appointment at their premises with Alina. She had sent me a link to their brochure so I was able to have a look at their stock before. Alina was very helpful, professional and friendly. Some items were not available but she was able to direct me to similar items for a similar price which was very helpful. She was able to work out what I wanted and then fit it to my budget, whereas other companies we had got quotes from, just told us how much it would cost and gave no choice in what suite, mirror or tiles we wanted. I was given a quote and a date at that consultation and they stuck to that. Eugene was in charge of the renovation and came to see the bathroom a week prior to the date to check everything. He was extremely professional, a pleasure to deal with and kept everything moving forward and on schedule. He discovered a problem with the original plumbing of the bathroom (it's in the extension and was done before we had the house) and fixed it with no additional cost. The rest of the team were also very professional and did a fabulous job. They were also very respectful of our house and kept the mess to the minimum. The work they did was fantastic, totally transformed the bathroom, giving it a touch of glamour at a reasonable price and within a week. Extremely disappointed with the service with this company. We went with them for our en suite renovation and had a very frustrating experience from delayed supply for over 2 months, tiles I ordered were not available despite being paid for and then the rest of the supplies were delayed again which in turn delayed the fitter who had started the project and instead of taking a week to complete it took over a month for them to be able to complete the job as communication from Tomelescu was so poor. Tomulescu Interiors were the 4th company that I received a quote from and their figures were significantly better than the previous three. Initially, I dealt with Elaine, who invited me down to their showroom to design/choose what I wanted. I went down in October and I wanted the work done before Christmas, if at all possible. Elaine was very pleasant and efficient to deal with. She was also quick to respond to questions. Miraculously, she was able to tell me that the work would be done in time for Christmas (and it was). I was a total novice over bathroom renovations, but I did specify that I had a limited budget. At a minimum, I wanted the bath removed and a walk-in shower put in. Tomulescu Interiors were prepared to do a entire revamp acceptably close to my budget.Although a couple of days late in starting the job, they were most obliging and fitted me in. The fitter, Eugen, was absolutely fantastic! He completed a full bathroom renovation in 5.5 days - and he worked long hours; and at times that would have been outside his working hours in order to get the job done. More importantly, his work is to a very high standard. (The bathroom in my 2 up/2 down terraced house is now like something in a hotel!).What I liked about this company was that they started by asking me what my budget was. I was honest and outlined my priorities; but explained that I would add on, as much as possible, to a particular limit. When I opted for gold coloured fittings, Elaine was quick to point out the price difference to me, which was clever business, as it kept me engaged and within my budget.Of course, I also did my own research and took note of online reviews. I did notice a particularly negative review, which I bore in mind. However, the vast majority were excellent reviews (including under the company’s former name) and I decided that any company can have a ‘clash’ of sorts with customers and be subjected to serious negativity, which of course may hugely damage their profile. To me, it was worth overlooking that ‘one’ poor review and giving them a chance.The suggestions that I would make are slight. I would like the company to organise the skip. Whilst I was able to do this myself and did so, the delayed start (of over 4 days) meant that I had to rehire the skip, adding on costs. I feel that if it was co-ordinated by the company, it would ensure that everything was ‘tied together’. I haven’t yet spoken to them or suggested this to them: it has only crossed my mind, as I write the review.I also liked that Eugen, the fitter, ‘did’ the entire job. He stripped the original bathroom, prepared for the new (waterproofing/pipework/pump installation/electrics etc); did the tiling/grouting/sealing; installed the hardware. Whilst he was a ‘one man operation’, he was so hard-working that the job was done in no-time! (A friend of mine was waiting two weeks for the completion of her bathroom.). He seems to be a perfectionist; and his experience ensures a job ‘well done’. (He’s also a really nice lad: smiley and pleasant and easy to deal with.)Eugen was also very careful to put down plastic sheeting on the carpet and to clean-up every evening; and again on the last day. My cream carpets did not suffer!Would I recommend Tomulescu Interiors? Absolutely. I have done so, quite widely.Would I use them again? Yes.Do I recommend Eugen? He is superb!
