I have to share with you, THE BEST experience for our dogs ANYWHERE has been with Andrew at Peak K9 Dog Trainers in Calgary! !I have a very difficult time leaving my dogs with just anyone and when our recent overseas trip got cancelled last minute, due to our dog sitter not being able to take care of them, we were screwed and realized we had to find someone that could not only take care of, work with and love our dogs. Not an easy task with two large dogs. From the very first phone conversation we knew Andrew was going to be amazing.Turned out he was much much better then we had anticipated. He knew how to put us at ease and worked so well with our dogs ( AND US ), to make sure our dogs are trained and we feel confident. We’ve even booked him to care of our babies when we’re out of town next. There’s such a comfort to knowing that your dogs are being taken care of AND loved, when you’re away from them. Our dogs are family and I’m so thankful to have come across Andrew, with him I know our family matters! I enrolled my dog Bailey in the 6 week private session. Bailey would pull on the leash, lunge at other dogs while we were walking, growl and snap at dogs if she felt threatened and bark at anyone who came into our yard. Her recall was terrible. I loved the approach that Andrew worked with me throughout the lesson, began with basics and added something new each week for us to work on at home. In just 6 short weeks I can take Bailey anywhere off leash with instant recall, she is a joy to walk off leash and her stay commands are incredible. My only regret is why I waited so long to contact Peak K9. I cannot rave enough about the 6 week program, I loved working with my dog and Andrew is so knowledgeable and great at explaining things. Highly recommend this program and trainers. More...

We sent our 2 dogs for board and training. One dog was gone 2 weeks, and has come home like a new dog, in the best way! He is a 1. 5 yr old puppy, and he was lacking in some manners, pulled on the leash and was starting to be reactive on walks. Now he follows queues and is so responsive. He listens quickly when corrected and is such a pleasure to walk and have company over with now. Our older dog, went for 3 weeks, so he could get e collar training. He is almost 10, and very reactive to the doorbell and other dogs on walks. His manners have also improved. He isn't less reactive, yet, but he handles the situations way better as do I, know that I have a better grasp on what the dog needs for me to do in those situations. As the weather improves for spring, I am looking forward to continuing his work outside, so he can learn to relax more and enjoy being outside, whether other dogs and people are out there too, or not. Inside, he has stopped barking at the doorbell and is learning very quickly that he doesnt need to run to the door everytime theres a noise outside. Its making our home quieter and less stressful already. We've had a great experience and will be recommending Peak K9 for anyone looking for training their dogs. :) More...

We sent our highly energetic, over stimulated golden pup- Rosie to Peak K9 for their 2 week on leash board and train program! Our major concern was the inability to walk her on a lead. She would get over stimulated, jump-up and attack us, and pull so hard we were worried for her trachea. She was also trying to pick up everything while on our walk- deer poop, cigarette buts, and other garbage and then resource guarding it and eating it! Not only did Kait & Andrew correct her manners on a lead, but they also taught her the place command which she can hold both inside and outside. This has really helped her to settle on her own and has made our lives in the house with her so much easier. We were finding it somewhat challenging to bond with her before training due to our frustration and feel like our relationship with Rosie has improved so much! More...

Working with Kait and Andrew has been such a game-changer for our family. We sent Ruger to them because we have a baby on the way and wanted to make sure the transition went smoothly, and the difference in him since coming home has been incredible. Our house feels calmer, and day-to-day life is so much easier. Ruger used to struggle with settling, bedtime, and his crate — it was a big source of stress for us. Now he goes into his crate at night the first time he is asked and settles without any whining or barking. Around the house, he’ll stay on his place until he’s invited off, which has taken so much pressure off us. He’s also become much more affectionate and loves to be close, which has been such a sweet change. Walks have completely transformed too. He no longer pulls or reacts to dogs or small animals, and we’re not avoiding certain routes. We actually enjoy walking him now. Friends and family keep commenting on how much calmer and more connected he is, and we can feel that shift every single day. What really stood out to us was how consistent Kait and Andrew’s training methods are. It’s made it easy for us to follow through at home, and Ruger is genuinely eager to please now. Their communication was great and we appreciate that they took him in when he unexpectedly started feeling well and needed medications to manage symptoms while with them. Since he’s been home, they’ve checked in several times to see how things are going, which we really appreciate and shows just how committed they are to Ruger. The investment was absolutely worth it. We’ve seen such a massive change in Ruger, and we feel so much more at ease and excited about our next chapter. We would recommend Kait and Andrew without hesitation! More...

We sent our 6 year old pup, Bindy, to Kaitlin and Andrew with Peak for their 3 week board and train and I couldn’t recommend them more. We rescued our pup when she was about 4 years old and knew when we got her we would need to invest in some training for her. We paid way too much money with the first trainers we tried and the results were zero. She was still not listening, aggressive on leash and overall a bit of a lunatic as she never had to learn to be a polite dog while growing up on the street. We decided to make the investment in her again but this time with Peak K9 and the results were exactly what we hoped for! We are all more relaxed out on walks, she listens and she’s much more eager to please us. The results are truly night and day. I appreciate that they used mixed methods with training techniques as one shoe fits all approach doesn’t work with all dogs for all behaviours. Kaitlyn and Andrew are truly dialled in when it comes to dogs and for getting them to engage to obtain the desired results. These two are very hardworking, committed and knowledgeable in the world of dogs! So happy to have found their services. Don’t wait, the investment will ultimately result in a happy pup and a happy owner! More...

I can’t say enough good things about Peak K9 Dog Training. We brought them our one-year-old golden lab who was a complete whirlwind, sweet, but absolutely wild and somehow Kait and Andrew turned him into not just a tolerable dog, but a joy to be around. He’s always been kind and loving, but his excitement was so over the top that he’d take you out at the knees, and if we tied him up, he’d bark and whine nonstop. After just one month with Kait, he now listens, heels, stays in place, and is calm and happy. My husband and I both agree it’s the best money we’ve spent all year. More...

We are so incredibly happy with the results of Archie’s off-leash obedience training! From day one, Andrew and Kaitlin were professional, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about what they do. Archie is a 3 yo golden retriever crossed with Pyrenees (big boy) and has always been a sweet and energetic dog, but we struggled with consistency when it came to jumping on guests, recall and staying focused — especially around other dogs and distractions. After completing his training, the difference is night and day. His off-leash recall is absolutely solid — he turns on a dime and comes straight back to us, even when he’s in the middle of something exciting. He is able to off-leash sit, lay down and heel perfectly as well. This has made off-leash outings so much more enjoyable and stress-free. One of the biggest changes we’ve seen is how he greets guests — no more jumping! He’s learned to stay calm and polite, which has made visits to our home so much more pleasant. What we’ve appreciated most is how well the training has carried over into real-world situations. Even when other dogs are around or there are distractions, Archie remains focused and responsive. Kaitlin and Andrew gave us the tools and knowledge to maintain and build on the work they did, and we truly feel empowered as dog owners. We can’t recommend this team enough — they’ve helped bring out the best in Archie, have made our off-leash experiences stress free, and made our bond with him even stronger. Thank you for everything! We sent our rescue dog, Sundae, to PeakK9 for their 4-week behavioral modification training, and we can’t thank Kate and Andrew enough for the transformation we’ve seen. Sundae is a sweet dog, but she’s had a difficult past—she’s a rescue, we’re her third home, and she’s always struggled with reactivity and anxiety. Before training, walking her was stressful for both of us. She would lunge, bark, and just simply crash out. Car rides were even worse, with nonstop reactivity that made it hard to control her. We had tried other training programs in the past, and while Sundae had made great progress, we knew we needed more professional help to truly support her anxiety and emotional regulation. Enter PeakK9. The care, consistency, and structure Kate and Andrew provided changed everything. When Sundae came home, it was like she was still her—but a more confident, grounded, and responsive version of herself. She listens to us now, is more neutral, checks in with us for guidance, and most importantly, she’s less stressed. She can even go off-leash now! Something we never thought would be possible! There’s a whole new level of mutual respect in our relationship with her. PeakK9 didn’t just train Sundae. They empowered us to be better, calmer, more capable handlers for her. We finally feel like we understand what she needs, and we now have the tools to meet those needs. Thank you, Kate and Andrew, for giving us our Sundae back with more joy, more peace, and so much more freedom. More...

My little girl went for her 3week board/train, our main concerns were recall/leash obedience. It was the hardest thing being away from her and Peakk9 helped so much for caring for her and sending updates. It was amazing to see her progress and to see her being off leash (before she was a complete runner and has run away so many times). It's so important seeking professional help with certain dog behaviours and having a professional trainer give your dog the proper ground work and conditioning, as equally important for us owners to continue with their training. I'm so grateful for their continued support and always happy to help with any questions. I am finally able to enjoy our time together in public and she is so so so much calmer. One of our biggest accomplishments was being able to have her in school with me, and she is a rockstar. She will lay perfectly under my desk even with lots of things going on, whereas before she would bark, jump on everyone and get the zoomies whenever someone pets her. Our sweet shadow spent 5 weeks with Peak K9 for obedience training. Shadow got aggressive a couple times with other dog at his kennel and the first time it happened we reached out to Peak K9. They were immediately so helpful and explained to me the options I had. He first explained the one on one training but I knew we needed more. Since shadow was a puppy we failed to take control of him. He was always a nice dog but just never "listened" to us so we would avoid lots of situation instead of taking care of training him. Spending 5 weeks with andrew and kait changed him, us and our lifestyles. Today is day 1 with shadow back home and we are seriously blown away. My daughter rang the door bell and he did not move out of his place command. I don't know about you guys but a door bell literally gives me anxiety cause shadow would run to the door like a boulder and take anything on his way out (including my daughter). We ended up unplugging the doorbell (again, avoiding instead of training). He is now crate train, I can walk him with no pulling (he's finally not the one taking ME for a walk). I regained trust in him already and it's only been 24 hrs. I cannot express with words my gratitude towards Andrew and Kait for their commitment and love for the job they do. We should have done this years ago and regret not doing so. Next pupp is going straight there for training. Shadow is a 6 years old Rottweiler, it's never too late to teach an old dog new tricks or in this case never too late to literally reboot our boy and change the remaining of his life completely. Well be able to eat at restaurant with him, take him to a hotel without fear. I'm so emotional about this post. I am so so thankful. I recommend peak9 to everyone, not matter the age or breed. Q&As

I would have to say the thing I love most about my job are the moments you are able to observe a dog really retain, learn and communicate with their owner and in training. There is no feeling more rewarding than helping dog owners live the life theyve envisioned for them and their pet.

The ability to provide our clients with high quality dog training at an affordable price and to help as many dog owners as possible each day.

We offer the highest standard of training and are truly passionate about helping dog owners and dogs with their everyday challenges. We specialize in advanced obedience and behaviour modification. Most hostile behaviour such as reactivity is rooted in fear/anxiety which is one of our strongest suits

Unfortunately we do not provide online or remote services at the moment. We believe that online learning for dog training is unattainable due to the fact that a big portion of it is timing and technique

Services

60 minute private lessons. Great for clients that are struggling with specific behavioural issues, as well as clients that have specific goals related to their dog and their lifestyle.

Great for high quality obediance as well as behaviour modification, this includes anxiety and reactivity
