FOOD = 5 STARS. We ordered the turkey and Italian sandwiches through doordash - so delicious, fresh meats, veggies, and lots of topping/mayo options. I am giving 4 stars just because of the cost ($17) for the size of sandwich.EDIT: 5 STARS - I am told by the owner the sandwiches are $14.95 in house! If you like a little of this and a little of that with everything fresh and high quality.. you’ve met your match!I built a salad around the house chicken sandwich, with everything under the sun. The chutney was top notch and went very well with the curry sauce.The chicken was delicious.I will admit the menu was a bit confusing with an ever-changing screen and prices were a bit unclear, but all of that faded when I dug in to enjoy the salad. I went into Patricia Street Deli with pretty high expectations after reading so many glowing reviews, so maybe that’s part of why this felt like a letdown. To start with the positives, there’s definitely a lot to like about the place itself. Parking was easy, the location is convenient, and the shop is clean and well kept. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and there’s a solid selection of drinks to choose from, which I appreciated.That said, the sandwich just didn’t live up to the hype for me. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but it felt pretty underwhelming overall. The flavors didn’t stand out, and nothing about it felt particularly memorable. I kept waiting for that “wow” moment people seem to rave about, and it just never came.I don’t say this lightly, but I’ve honestly had more memorable sandwiches from places like Subway. Not necessarily better across the board, but at least ones that stuck with me more than this did.I’m open to the idea that I just picked the wrong item or had bad timing, and I might give it another shot down the road. Loved! Buy your food here please. Alot of GF options and a separate prep area as well. We got there 15 minutes to close (all red lights! ) and the staff were very welcoming. Overall a wonderful experience.PS. During the 2016 evacuation, we ended up on Jasper and the owners were so sweet to us. We never made it back, so when I heard about what had happened and their new space in Edmonton, I knew I had to go there when visiting Edmonton. I had to cater a staff lunch. Filling out the form and interacting with the staff was quick and easy. The food was great, everyone enjoyed their sandwiches, salad and cookies. Great sandwiches, great atmosphere, friendly staff. I ordered through Uber Eats to pickup, but sandwich wasn't ready when I got there. No problem, I don't have a problem waiting a few minutes. However, people who arrived in the shop after I did and were ordering in-store were receiving their sandwiches and leaving before me- I unfortunately ended up spending a half hour, my whole lunch break, waiting for my sandwich :( not great communication between staff. So the sandwich itself was good , but the sandwich bread is very narrow and small, can’t hold much in the sandwhich and it was 35$ for two sandwiches … a deli should be maybe 21$ for two sandwiches tops ..
