Counselling and Psychotherapy can sometimes feel clinical and impersonal. At Phoenix Connection Therapy we do things differently.
Our team recognise the importance of viewing mental health as holistic and recognises the ‘person in the environment’ as being a central consideration within the context of any diagnosis of mental health-related challenges.

I had my second session with Brad today, and it’s hard to believe I didn’t start this work sooner. At 29, I’ve never felt so genuinely heard, validated, and empowered in therapy as I have in just two sessions with him. Brad brings a rare combination of deep compassion and clear, grounded insight. He listens carefully, and he has an exceptional way of explaining concepts like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in language that actually makes sense, by connecting them meaningfully into my own lived experience that we discuss in the sessions. It feels so good to shake off the things that I so desperately needed someone to just ‘hear’ and ‘share’ in the feelings that I have carried for so long. This takes a special human being, to listen, sit with the feelings, and make meaning of them. I’m genuinely surprised by how much progress I already feel after only two sessions, and I’m really looking forward to continuing this work with him.Thank you, Brad. More...

My partner and I came to therapy feeling so disconnected, exhausted, and unsure how to find our way back to each other. Working with Brad has been one of the most meaningful decisions we have made in our relationship. From the first session, Brad created a space where both of us felt understood, so that we were able to get to the heart of our challenges. Brad helped us see the patterns we were caught in and guided us to understand the needs and fears driving our reactions. We have since learned how to slow down, really hear each other, and stay connected even when things felt hard. Brad’s way of working is deeply compassionate and you can see how passionate he is about supporting couples. We communicate better, we repair faster, and we feel like a team again. We are leaving therapy not just more connected, but genuinely hopeful about our future. We cannot recommend Brad highly enough. If you are struggling and want a therapist who brings skill, safety, and genuine care, he is exceptional. More...

This was the first time I've ever been to therapy and Brad made the experience very comfortable for myself. He is calming, gentle, understanding and simply very good at what he does. I would strongly recommend anybody wanting therapy or just wanting to talk to someone to go visit. More...

What do you love most about your job?
I am always in awe and humbled by the level of strength and resilience shown by clients to transcend the challenges that have been keeping them stuck. Its a special honour to be a part of that, and forms the foundation for why I continue to practice as a therapist and social worker.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My journey as a social worker and therapist really started over 10 years ago when I healed from trauma and a lived experience of PTSD. This inspired me to get my university degree in addition to completing many trauma focused courses. From there, I have been fortunate to create my own business in private practice, social work, and psychotherapy. It has been a pleasure and very meaningful to me to walk this journey and bring healing to the lives of others.
Why should our clients choose you?
Clients reaching out in their most vulnerable moments need to feel comfortable and have a sense that the practitioner is the right fit for them. Its with this in mind that I have created a short video for clients to view so they can get an understanding of how I work and if I am a good fit for them. See here - https://youtu.be/VufmNcjeE8A
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes, I am well accustomed to providing zoom and online services to clients and have also supported clients within an international capacity. It is recommended that prior to zoom session, a free 15 minute consultation is helpful and should occur so that I am able to gather some intake information from the client and also organise an invoice which needs to be paid 24 hours prior to the session.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Currently, my practice follows the guidelines as set by QLD Government which includes social distancing when required, regularly cleaning the practice room, wearing a mask if necessary, changing face to face sessions to telehealth when required should there be lock down mandates and or the client/ practitioner has had any exposure to Covid 19 and or displaying symptoms. Should you display symptoms after booking, please reach out and request an appointment change at your earliest convenience.

Individual Therapy: Compassionate Support for Growth and Healing
At Phoenix Connection Therapy, I honour you as the expert in your own life. Therapy is never a one-size-fits-all process—our work together is tailored to your unique experiences, needs, and goals. Whether you’re navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, or relationship-based distress, I am here to support and guide you in a way that feels right for you.
I draw on a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Somatic Experiencing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy. Together, we’ll create a safe and collaborative space to explore your challenges, reconnect with your strengths, and build strategies to move forward with clarity and confidence.
Taking the first steps on this journey requires immense courage, and I deeply respect the strength it takes to prioritize your healing and wellbeing.
Let’s work together to support you to create a life that feels more grounded, connected, and aligned with your values.

Couples Therapy
At Phoenix Connection Therapy, couples therapy provides a safe and supportive space to help you and your partner address challenges, build trust, and strengthen your connection. My approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based model designed to help couples understand and transform the emotional dynamics that drive conflict and disconnection.
EFT focuses on identifying negative interaction cycles, understanding unmet emotional needs, and fostering secure attachments between partners. By exploring these patterns, I help you and your partner communicate more openly, repair ruptures, and create new, healthier ways of relating. The process is collaborative and compassionate, providing tools to navigate difficult emotions, express vulnerability, and deepen intimacy.
Whether you’re seeking to rebuild trust, manage recurring conflicts, or simply grow closer, couples therapy can empower you to rediscover and nurture your relationship. Together, we’ll work towards creating a bond where both partners feel supported, valued, and secure.
