From conferences and award ceremonies to birthdays and private celebrations, I capture the energy, emotion and connection that make each event memorable. Working quietly and unobtrusively, I document both the key moments and the unscripted interactions in between — creating natural, story-driven images that preserve not just what happened, but how it felt to be there.
Portrait Photography
Maternity, personal portraits & boudoir, along with senior portraits & school formals — sessions that celebrate a particular season of life and the person you are within it. My wife and I are extremely happy that we engaged Lin as our wedding photographer. From the very first time we contacted her, all the way through to the planning discussions, the actual wedding day, and even the post-shoot follow up services afterwards, the entire experience was fantastic and seamless. She was just very easy and pleasant to deal with.What impressed us the most was how much effort Lin put into getting to know us before the wedding. She didn’t just turn up on the day and start taking photos — she actually spent time understanding our personalities, habits, preferences, photography styles we liked, and even remembered the names of our parents and family members. Because of that, she blended into the wedding so naturally and interacted with our guests like someone everyone already knew.Another big plus was that she could speak Mandarin fluently, which made communication with a lot of our family members and guests so much easier. Everyone felt comfortable around her and she was able to joke, chat, and direct people naturally throughout the day which helped to make people feel relaxed in front of the camera.She was also exceptionally good at creating a lively and comfortable atmosphere during the wedding. To be honest, both my wife and I (especially myself) were naturally a little tense and awkward when taking photos at the start, but Lin was extremely good at creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere, and she brought a lot of energy to the wedding and somehow made everything feel natural instead of overly posed or stressful. That helped us loosen up a lot, and I think that really showed in the final photos which felt much more natural and genuine.Even our celebrant was impressed by her professionalism and the way she managed the atmosphere throughout the wedding, and actually asked me afterwards how I managed to find such a good photographer - which honestly says a lot!During the shoot itself, Lin was very patient, attentive, and passionate about her work. Even after the scheduled timing was over, she still voluntarily extended the shoot by another 15–20 minutes to help us capture more moments and angles without rushing us. That really showed us how much passsion and dedication she puts into delivering the best possible outcome for her clients rather than simply watching the clock.When we received the photos, both of us were extremely happy with how they turned out. The photos looked beautiful, natural, and professional, and really captured the emotions and atmosphere of the day perfectly.Her pricing was also very fair and transparent. Everything was clearly stated upfront on her website, so there were no hidden surprises along the way. Considering the level of effort, care, and quality she delivered, we felt the value was excellent.Overall, we had a wondering experience with Lin and are very grateful to her for helping us preserve such important memories so beautifully. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
A great photograph isn’t really about the perfect pose or the perfect light — it’s about creating a space where people can be themselves. When someone feels relaxed, seen, and unhurried, the real moments start to unfold: the way they laugh, the way they lean into someone they love, the tiny gestures they don’t even realise they make.
My job is to notice those things. To guide gently when needed, to step back when the moment is already happening, and to shape an environment where people forget about the camera. When that happens, the photograph becomes more than an image — it becomes a piece of truth from that day, something that still feels alive years later.
That’s the real secret: comfort, connection, and presence. Everything else — light, composition, timing — simply supports that.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I like to begin by understanding the feeling they want from their photos. Every story starts differently, so I ask questions that help me see their world a little more clearly — who’s involved, what this moment means to them, and how they want to remember it.
I might ask
The intention behind the session — what season of life they’re in and why this moment matters.
The people or relationships at the centre — personalities, dynamics, and anything they want me to know.
The mood they’re drawn to — relaxed, playful, intimate, bold, quiet.
Locations that feel meaningful — places that hold memories or simply feel like “them.”
Any small details or rituals they want included — a favourite activity, an object, a gesture that feels like home.
How they want to feel during the session — calm, guided, spontaneous, or a mix of both.
These questions aren’t about creating a rigid plan; they’re about understanding the heart of the story so the session feels natural, personal, and true to who they are.
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most is the way people let me into their lives for a moment — the trust, the vulnerability, the quiet in‑between gestures that say more than any pose ever could. Every person who steps in front of my lens brings their own history, energy, and way of moving through the world, and being able to witness that is something I never take for granted.
There’s also a kind of exchange that happens during a session. I’m not just documenting a story; I’m learning from it. The way families connect, the way couples look at each other, the way someone softens when they feel seen — those moments stay with me. They shape the way I photograph and the way I show up in my own life.
After more than a decade, it still doesn’t feel like work. It feels like being invited into something real, and turning that into images people can return to for years. That’s what keeps me here, wholeheartedly.

Clients choose me because the experience feels calm, personal, and genuinely human. I don’t rush people or force them into poses that don’t feel like them. Instead, I create an environment where they can settle in, breathe, and simply be themselves — and that’s when the real moments start to appear.
My approach blends gentle guidance with quiet observation. I step in when someone needs direction, and step back when the moment is already unfolding. That balance helps even the most camera‑shy people feel comfortable, and it’s often the reason clients tell me their photos “feel like us.”
