What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Most people think a great photograph comes down to having the best camera or perfect lighting. In reality, the biggest challenge is helping people feel comfortable enough to be themselves.
Many people tell us they’re worried they’ll look awkward or that their photos will feel stiff or overly posed. Our job is to remove that pressure completely.
We create a relaxed, easy atmosphere where you can simply enjoy the moment and focus on the people around you. When people feel at ease and forget the camera is there.
That’s when the laughter is genuine, the glances mean something, and the photographs become more than pictures, they become memories you can feel every time you look at them.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
We start by getting to know them. What’s important on your day? What moments do you want to remember? Who will be there? What’s your vibe; relaxed, playful, intimate? We also ask about the practical stuff: location, timing, and any must-have shots. But mostly, we want to understand your energy so the photography fits your story.
What do you love most about your job?
We love being invited into people’s lives and witnessing real, unfiltered moments. The laughter, the tears, the silly, spontaneous bits that make every wedding, family session, or event unique. And of course, capturing something that people can look back on and feel all over again ~ that’s priceless.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We wanted to create a space where photography isn’t rigid or forced, where the client’s story comes first, and where our own energy and style can shine. Chris and Erika love storytelling through imagery, and we wanted to bring that passion to couples and families in a way that’s flexible, personal, and real.
Why should our clients choose you?
Because we’re not your traditional photographers. We don’t follow rules ~ we follow energy. Every session is custom-built around you, your people, your pace, and your story. We mix heart, professionalism, and a relaxed, natural approach. We care about the moments that matter, and we’ll do everything to capture them authentically.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Absolutely. While we love being present for the real, in-the-moment energy of the planning for the day, we can absolutely consult, plan, and share images online. We do virtual planning calls, online galleries for viewing and downloading, and remote guidance for timelines or session prep. It’s all about making the experience as flexible and accessible as possible for our clients.
