⭐️⭐️ (2/5) Sharing an honest review based on my experience. Mr Ong was professional and helpful, and I appreciated his time and explanations. Unfortunately, my experience with Nicole (Head of Marketing & Operations) was extremely disappointing. Although she is not a lawyer, she frequently communicated in an authoritative and condescending manner, often positioning herself as providing legal guidance. Simple clarification questions were met with defensive replies and repeated emphasis on chargeable services rather than clear or supportive answers. The tone of communication felt patronising and dismissive. On multiple occasions, I was told things like “you decide,” “don’t waste your money,” and warned not to treat lawyers or legal letters as a “threat” despite me never expressing any such intention. This made conversations unnecessarily stressful and came across as judgmental rather than professional. Instead of addressing straightforward queries directly, discussions were often redirected toward paid “structured advisory exercises,” which felt sales-driven rather than client-focused. Sincere, dedicated team who replied to our queries promptly. Special thanks to Mr Ong Boon Chong, who had tirelessly completing the task and often done it past midnight to ensure tight deadlines were met without miss. I suppose this is what most lawyers will be doing too. The law firm believes strongly in mediation and their approach is always less intimidating than the opposing lawyers. As a Christian, a more gentle and yet firm approach aligns with our belief. Though he believes that for our case, we should pursue legal proceedings as the mediation outcome did not seem to be fair to our situation, we believe that by channelling our time and resources in our business and mental well being is of priority than continuing with an adversarial legal proceedings. There is no right and wrong. But, overall, I highly recommend the law firm and also their fixed fee model. Not forgotten to mention the founder, Mark Goh, who is firm and yet gentle. My spouse was scolded harshly by Mark for my spouse's foolish acts that may pose a disadvantage to our case , however we knew that Mark has a good intention at heart for doing it. Be prepared to be lectured by Mark if anyone commits a big mistake that can be avoidable. But, never takes it personal or hard as it is for that person good after all. More...

This lady Nicole from Vanilla Law whom I had good impression initially and I was in touch with her to see if her lawyers are a match to my case but later she used the analogy of cancer disease to describe the case and laughed about it which I find her not just insensitive but totally unprofessional. The 'law' concept she is referring to is that the stages of the litigation which was no difficult concept for anyone but herself. Later sometime there were no response so I check if her lawyer could help out but she just bashed out rudely at me saying her lawyers are not interested! (If you were half as nice and diplomatic to me like you did in this review, I would not have put out this Google review to rate Vanilla Law one star. ) As everyone can see her reply to this review, she is neither remorseful nor apologetic for the inappropriate analogy use and her attitude toward unsuitable prospects. We are Vanilla, Law Simplified. The law is already a complex creature and we do not need to complicate matters further for you. If your immediate need is to find a solution to your dispute, we have the right fit solution to help you de-escalate it in a strategic and uncomplicated way. Our success rate to de-escalate disputes using alternative dispute resolution is in excess of 80% (please reach out to us to get a more accurate estimation for this).We are also the right fit team to assist you in your business growth (in essence these are, by way of example, mergers & acquisitions, drafting contracts for all the different business domains etc). Finally, expensive legal costs is a constant bugbear. As such, we have some 10 years ago, abolished the use of the hourly rated fee model. Instead, we work a milestones of work with fixed fees. You now do not need to worry about the clock ticking when the work begins.
What inspired you to start your own business?
More than 30 years ago, the Founder started this firm with a single customer segment, the small and medium sized enterprises.
