A week ago we collected the keys to a house we were letting via a high street agent William H Brown (Stevenage). But when we saw the state of the house, my wife asked if we could still cancel the contract! !! We quickly returned to the agent - the house had not been cleaned properly for years (mould, grease, dirty toilets, rusty blinds) and they just hovered it. The following week can we summarised as: blaah, blaah, it can be cleaned, blaah, the house is habitable, blaah. Finally we decided to find a professional cleaner using Google. The choice was wide. Some were very pushy (a great offer of £600 but only for you for £300), while some others weren't bothered to check their availability. Finally I chose a company close to my work that seemed optimal: Lido's Facilities Management. The price was good, the guy, Walid, was responsive and helpful over the phone. And it was the good choice: he was very enthusiastic and since he had worked with letting agents before, he could easily see the problems our agent should have fixed. He worked for 6 hours and the house was finally in a state we would expect on day one. We liked that Walid was concentrating on solutions and that he also collected evidence for us for the future (photos, video). A day after his visit we started moving in. We paid slightly more than what was quoted just because I forgot about one toilet, and we asked for that to be cleaned as well. We definitely recommend Lido's Facilities Management. More...

Wow! I can highly recommend this company. Called them on a Saturday evening and they managed to fit the job in on the Monday to do an end of Tenancy deep clean throughout the whole house. Kept me updated with before and after photographs for my records to submit a deposit claim. Also, painted the whole Livingroom and Kitched. Stripped the laminate from the cupboard doors and painted them giving the Kitchen a new face-lift instead of needing to buy new cupboard doors...saving me £££.
