If that sounds like your garden, then it’s time to call in the experts in the form of a garden clearance team.

FAQ

What is Garden Clearance?

Garden clearance involves the removal of any unwanted debris or overgrown greenery in your outdoor areas. In some cases, it could just be a case of cutting the grass and pruning any shrubbery. However, it can also include clearing out piles of leaves, wood, and physical items that may be lying around your garden.

The aim with garden clearance is to restore some order, making the area much easier to maintain. However, most of all, garden clearance is about creating a much neater space that improves the look of your property. Doing so will allow you to enjoy your garden as intended, which is otherwise difficult if it’s overgrown.

Different types of Garden Clearance

Every garden is going to require a different approach when it comes to clearance techniques. It depends on what needs to be cleared and how large the land is. Here’s an overview of what to ask for.

  • Rubbish Clearing - Does your garden have piles of rubbish sitting on it? Rubbish clearance can include everything from scrap metal, bricks, wood, and even old garden furniture. Essentially, any bulky items that need removing. For certain items, the garden clearance team may require a special license to be able to remove them, so be upfront before you book them.
  • Overgrown Garden - Grass, weeds, and trees that aren’t regularly tamed can soon become overgrown. If you are elderly or disabled, you may also struggle to get into your garden. Having your overgrown garden taken care of will make it much easier to maintain in the future. It will also improve the look of your property, so will be appreciated by your neighbours too.
  • Leaf Clearing - Leaves that are blown off nearby trees can create unwanted debris in your garden. They can even become a slipping hazard, especially during the winter season. Leaf clearing will remove leaves from your garden, which will also improve the look of your lawn. It will also prevent pests or rodents from burrowing in large piles of leaves.
  • Garden Waste Removal - Garden waste can include rubbish and larger items but is mainly focused on grass cuttings, trees, shrubs, and other plant-based debris. Not all councils provide bins for garden waste, and if you are clearing yours out then garden waste removal is ideal.

What credentials to look out for with a Garden Clearance company

If you are looking to have waste removed from your garden, then you must choose a reputable firm. Unfortunately, some companies are not legitimate and will fly-tip your waste, which not only is bad for the environment but could even land you with a fine if the waste can be traced back to you.

Garden clearance teams should have a waste carrier license. They should also be able to provide details of how and where your waste will be disposed of. This is in addition to proper invoicing and paperwork, which will detail what is being removed and the contact details of the company.

Can you access Garden Clearance services online?

Many garden clearance firms have websites or social media pages. Here you can view before and after shots, which are very helpful when making your decision on who to hire for the job. However, it’s still important to meet with them in person. You need to be sure they are not only capable of taking on the job but are professional too.

Will Gardeners remove all waste from my land?

The process of garden clearance is very thorough, to give you back as much usable space as possible. However, some items cannot be removed for safety reasons, unless the clearance team has a special license to do so. This includes items such as asbestos, bio-medical waste, fridges, mattresses, paint, toxic chemicals, and tyres.

When contacting a prospective garden waste clearance team, you should always check what they are prepared to remove. You may have to get a specialist team to remove any hazardous or bulky waste first, to avoid putting yourself or anyone else at risk of injury.

How much does Garden Clearance cost?

Factors that affect the cost of garden clearance include the size of the land, the type of debris that needs clearing, and the amount of labour required to complete the job. Though, the best way to get an accurate quote is to have a team come and assess the level of work required. That’s because no two gardens are the same, and with severely overgrown gardens it’s going to take more labour to clear compared with smaller jobs.

What to look for in a Garden Clearance company

Garden clearance is a physically demanding job, especially when it comes to tasks such as removing tree roots or lifting heavy debris. The company you choose should be experienced, but also have the right tools for the job. Great communication is also important, so that they carry out all the jobs you had in mind, and to a high standard.

What do you love most about your job?

We love attending a sad looking area and leaving it clean and good to look at once again feeling sure footed and looking cared for.
Garden clearance is hard work but the results always worth it, getting your garden tamed and under control again can be a daunting task. We have the stamina and the right tools to do the job. Please see our photos and reviews here on Bark.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I had been P.A.Y.E. for 43 years in property before meeting my new partner, Sue. I wanted to spend our time together and being self-employed allows us to do that. I have had many homes that I've renovated, many gardens that I've cleared and replanted. It was the natural choice for me to do things I love doing under my own control. It all really started when I bought my professional pressure washing set up and one job led to another.

Why should our clients choose you?

You should choose us as we do what we say say we'll do, on time and as agreed.
We have many satisfied clients.
You can see some reviews on Yell.com and Google, or you can go to Simon Evett on You Tube to see the machine at work.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Covid 19 is not really an issue for us as we don't interact at any close distance at all with our clients. Where we have a job inside we are very careful with social distancing. Most of our jobs are in the garden or in empty homes whilst cleaning, decorating or clearing them.

Absolutely awesome. I am very impressed from the initial call that I received. I was given a price which was very competitive. Same day as the quote was done the job was started and finished. "Perfect job" Neighbours past so many comments. My driveway, patio's look fabulous. I have only just purchased this property, and was absolutely amazed with the beautiful brick patterns that have been restored. Hats off to a lovely gentleman that worked extremely hard, and made this possible. I would definitely recommend WB property solutions without any hesitation.
