I have four years of experience as a coach, counselor, and therapist. My approach involves exploring intrapersonal conflicts and trying to harmonize two opposing parts within the individual that are bringing about a sense of ambivalence. I enjoy assisting clients in charting out their preferred future so that they can gravitate towards their goals and dreams instead of flogging themselves uphill.

Counselling is the process by which a person undergoing distress, the client, is employing another person free of distress, the counsellor, to assist them in resolving conflicts within or without. The counsellor enables the client to discharge themself of unprocessed emotions so that they can tackle life’s challenges with grace and equanimity from a place of clarity. Counselling eventually progresses to a degree of in-depth exploration so that one can expand their tunnel vision and conjure up options that are deeply embedded in their unconscious. Counselling is a preventive, healing process that focuses on present problems.

When personal problems are repetitive and pervade through life in definite patterns despite relieving distressing emotions, assisting in healthy coping and making lifestyle changes, therapy is necessary. Therapy is usually re-organizing personality to help one morph their current self into an ideal self to fulfil role expectations that are causing them distress. Therapy is curative more than it is preventive. Counselling and therapy can occur simultaneously in a session or through a therapeutic relationship depending on goals set by the client. Therapy can help increase the frequency of adaptive behaviours (exercise, assertive communication) or decrease maladaptive behaviours (procrastination, addiction). Therapy can bring about lifestyle changes. Therapy can facilitate reorienting interpersonal dynamics and family dynamics. Therapy can enhance one’s ability to confront a situation that they know is non-threatening but feel otherwise. Therapy can assist one in avoiding a situation that they know is threatening but find themself in repeatedly, unsure of why or how.

Hurt people hurt people. Blindspots in the unconscious, self-ignorance, and other-ignorance make us hurt ourselves and others. When such information is brought to the conscious mind, an individual is empowered to make responsive decisions rather than reactive decisions.
